Chrysler TorqueFlite gearboxes

Can anyone tell me if there is any difference between the TorqueFlite transmissions fitted to big-block and small-block Chrysler engines? I have a 727 gearbox, that was attached to a 383 small block engine in a 1972 Bristol, but is likely to fit a 440 big-block?

383-413-426-440 are the big-block's.....??

318 and 340 were the small blocks...??

Ah, that makes sense then. I thought that the 383 was still a small block.
