The Under £200ish Watch and occasional Opera Thread! Vol2

Sorry, should have introduced myself, a longtime lurker round these parts, have been building up a bit of a collection recently, started ironically with a Speedmaster as an engagement present which meant I needed an every day watch (an Invicta diver).
This more recently led to my mum giving me my late fathers watches as she’s found them while clearing out the house including a Seiko Kinetic from about ‘97 that was originally bought from duty free in Singapore by my brother for me, a fake Rolex he found in a car park, a Tissot Tissonic from the 70’s and a more recent Seiko 5 day/date 2 tone.

Welcome chum. Sounds great, so feel free to post some pictures. Condolences on the loss of your father.
Likewise, condolences on your loss. I’m just coming up to the 1 year anniversary of my Dad passing away so that kind of thing is perhaps closer to my thoughts that it would usually be.
If the Kinetic isn’t working then they can be revived (apparently) but they’re one for a watchmaker I think. I’m not an expert on those but there are plenty on her who are.
A Seamaster and an Invicta Pro Diver is in many ways the perfect 2-watch collection, so congratulations on one-upping the majority of us here in your first post.

On a more prosaic note my wife liked my steeldive 1953 but wanted someting slightly smaller.
Cue a £49 37mm invicta quartz from Amazon.
I started with an invicta back in 2001 when it was still a pretty new brand. Mine used a moyota movement and was a very good looking watch with the included rubber strap. I still have the watch but it needs total restoration. I would like to restore / mod it at some point Cue a £49 37mm invicta quartz from Amazon.

Don’t get that Invicta quartz wet. My son‘s filled up with water in the swimming pool (and yes, the crown was pushed in).
Bad battery replacement? Had mine for 15 years and it's a brilliant beater, swam with it a lot as well. Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
