There most iconic watch design, now available in cheap plastic priced at £200 .. what a way to trash your own brand …
Yes, it's just you.

I very much doubt this collaboration will damage either Swatch or Omega, in the slightest.

I think it's a very clever way to get children wearing Omega branded watches.

Does seem a bit of an odd tie in to me too but it’s not like the speedy pro isn’t already famous for loads of limited editions and all sorts offshoots.

I love my omega speedmaster professional and I like swatches and had a few over the years but I don’t really want them combined tbh.

I think the pink and baby blue ones might have a wider popularity like the baby g shock watches did years ago.

Not for me though but it’s interesting and great that others like them.

I did initially think about getting my mum to pop into the Edinburgh shop and get a pink one for my daughter but looks like it’s not going to be a pop in at lunchtime kind of thing.

Imagine the upset if it was Rolex doing this with the Daytona hehe

Mmm interesting.. what if you just paid £6k for speed master at omega boutique only then to walk past a swatch shop & see the exact same watch, with omega official brand made in plastic & priced at £200 ish pounds .. personal I be a bit pi@@ off . And what next a swatch sea master in plastic priced at £99

I was a bit annoyed last night at seeing this collaboration and was on the point of asking on here if anyone wanted to buy my 1861.
After watching a couple of videos of the collection I was on the point of asking on here where I could buy one.
Very clever marketing,it’s sucked me in.

I'm seeing this same debate raging in lots of places and the key stuff that comes out seems to be

Buy & wear what you want who gives a feck!
People who don't know watches don't care
People who know watches know the difference between an Omega & a Swatch

It's a fun watch, in the flesh that's what they look like, treat it as such & enjoy!

It's a plastic Swatch. It isn't a Speedmaster. Anyone who wants a 'proper' Speedmaster, will still buy one.

They won't spend £200 on a Swatch and think "Great, I don't need to buy an Omega anymore". It just won't happen.

If you want a Speedmaster, you will still buy a Speedmaster. This will not dent sales of Omega at all.

I want one of these because I think it's a cool bit of fun for £200. Thats all there is to it.

I didn't pay 6k for my Speedy, but I really fancy one of these. Sounds fun.

It's ok....wait until they do a Rolex colab.

I think it's great. Friend of mine in Salzburg will hopefully pick me up one on Saturday. Nice thing to have as a daily and a bit of fun. What else is there in this price bracket that has the buzz around it like this? It's a great idea IMO.

If you honestly think this will damage sales of Omega, even in the slightest, then I don't really know what else to say!

I think you are mistaken, and both Omega and Swatch will get a massive buzz of promo out of this.

PH meet in London on Saturday? biggrin

Cool things... tempted to jump on a train Saturday morning... albeit I wouldn't want to be queuing!

Counts as a dog walk if I take the mutt, right?

Mercury for me to wear but a Moon might be a nice thing to own.

It's a bit of fun - devalues nothing for me and a clever tool to get people into the brand and history.

Looks like a fun thing... And I'd very much doubt it will hurt Omega sales one bit.
A lot of snobbery around - and why would Rolex care? They can't make enough to satisfy customers that want thier goods anyway.

The only thing i'm surprised at is that it's being sold only in SWATCH stores - surprised the Omega boutiques don't want in on it.

Let's face it alot of the people buying these are W.I.S and probably have the cash to be convinced to buy something from the full Omega range at the same time.

I won't be trekking to London on Saturday to buy one however - i'll wait for the noise to die down and hopefully catch one on second or third release at face value.

The full box set would be a nice thing to own but i think i'll stick to one... it'll make a great holiday watch.

Me and several Omega owning colleagues are lapping this up.

We're all one Omega watch owners that would love to add more watches, but funds simply won't allow. Would much rather spend £207 on this than a £200 knock-off.

The Swatch Group has shareholders to please, so this will be a massive revenue boost for the group. Using me and my two colleagues as an example; none of us were in the market to buy anything from The Swatch Group at all several days ago, but here we are today all wondering how to get to London for Saturday morning...

As others have said, anybody in the market for a proper Speedmaster moon watch will still be after one of those. These will not satisfy that itch, but for £207, they're cheap enough for a bit of fun.

The exact same watch? Are you serious? Get a grip of yourself.
