I have had mine 8 years or so now, the black face deep sea.
I love mine but I have hands like shovels.
Buy used and it shouldn't cost you a fortune to change your mind.

I could be tempted to let mine go. 12 series.

Worn a couple of times a month over last couple of years, full B&W etc.

Shame you're not closer but if you ever have a chance to be on the Wirral give me a shout, you're more than welcome to borrow it.

True and Rolex is definitely the 911 of the watch marketing world.
Corrected biglaugh
The thing that puts me off Rolex is everywhere you look there is a tiktokker, instagrammer, youtuber or tattooed meathead wearing a Rolex of some sort. That and all the raffle competitions to win a Rolex.
Don't get me wrong, I do like the watches, just not the brand image.
If I could walk into an AD and buy a Skydweller I would, as for the Deepsea, I think it's a great watch, but for me the Omega Ultra Deep is the better watch in looks and quality.

I agree the Sky-Dweller is a nice watch and the GMT Pepsi on jubilee is great looking too. What puts me off is the whole charade of being on a waiting list for basic steel sports watches and having to have some sort of purchase history to be 'allowed' to buy certain models, exactly like Porsche. I have a late 60's 5513 which is my only Rolex and it will probably stay that way.

Exactly!
If I walk into a shop and want to dump 12k on a watch, I'd want to walk out with one there and then, or at least wait no more than a few days for one to be ordered into stock.

Rather like Groucho Marx's letter of resignation to the Friars' Club...

I don't want to wear a watch that is readily available for me to buy biggrin

I'm looking at getting a 5513.
Can you share a picture of yours?

(very different to the one the OP wants!!)

The thing with the Sub is that it looks very much like my £350 Steinhart Ocean One which is an excellently made automatic watch.

If I want to drop car money on a watch I want to have something that is a bit remarkable. Paying £9000 for something a bit default seems daft.
