I thought this was the most appropriate place for this rather than starting a new thread.
In my quest to find a tub to buy, I stumbled across a guy on the web called John Boyle who is an ex-lawyer and now an underwater film maker. He has a Sealine S34 based in the West Country. Despite never cruising outside of his local area, he and a young colleague decided to undertake a round Britain and Ireland adventure in their S34.
The series is 32 films, the link below is leg 1 (film 3) which shows the style of their travelogue approach to recording their journey. The films are about 5 minutes long each , and I have found them interesting and worryingly inspiring!
John also recorded a Biscay tour, a Celtic tour, hidden West Country anchorages, and bringing home his new Princess V39 from The Balearics should you want to see his view of other shores. I am now addicted to the style of his films and can't wait to see his next adventure.
The Great British Motorboat Tour starts here with the first short film, there are a couple of films before this one which deal with settIng it up (or not). I hope it is as of interest to you guys as it was to me...

this is the same boat I have recently acquired but as yet don't have any photos to post.
it is a 32ft "Nobby" pitch pine on Oak and built in 1920.

Surface drives - didn't know they were a thing until I saw this.

No idea how fast it is, but it looks pretty damn quick to me. Quite fascinating the way the water holds the "shape" of the props

Don't think this has been posted - but the scale is pretty staggering - incredible engineering . Can only ever go forward and needs to meet tugs close to shore.

They never made sense to me vs a submerged prop. But apparently the main advantage is reduction in cavitation which makes them more efficient. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Of1RY4M8VqM

Still - they look frikin awesome.
And just to prove that you don't have to be a millionaire or be in the Med to have fun with a boat...
