Apparently the cause is parametric roll. Excellent informative thread on ybw scuttlebutt about it.It's a problem becoming more prevalent due to ship design.

This one presumably? https://forums.ybw.com/index.php?threads/container...The number of lost containers annually, if without this event, is something I find fairly amazing.
Obviously some will fairly be fair harmless, and just sink to the bottom with non-toxic replaceable cargo.
However a lot will contain plastics, foam, or worse pollutants. And I understand a lot remain as floating 'iceburgs' for years.
Nasty to hit one in a small-med size boat.

This the thread for Ships, right?

A few bloopers* in the commentary, but worth a watch (y)
- e.g. moving the River Wear from Sunderland to Fleetwood, replacing the Wyre 🤣

Wouldn't want to do that in a breeze. Azimuth thrusters be working hard no doubt. Condi said:
