ALDI & LIDL Food and Drink Worth Trying?
Discussion
Lidl's next seasonal wine range arrives on Thursday (Winter Wine Tour replacing Autumn Wine Tour)
11 of them score 90 or more - clearly competing with Aldi's top end wines in their Christmas selection.
The Baden Spätburgunder, the Riesling Reserve Trocken and the Alsace Pinot Gris will be on my initial buy list.

The local newspaper ran a syndicated piece on 'best supermarket mince pies' yesterday.

I'm very much a home baker when it comes to mince pies but was sufficiently motivated by the piece to grab the 'top spot' variation today, together with the almond topped ones, which I always like (and tend to make my own of too!)

Specially Selected Classic mince pies: nice enough... if you like commercial mince pies.
The frangipane ones... absolutely delightful. Light, fluffy, almondy. Om nom nom...

Any Aldi gins to be recommended? My wife likes the Edinburgh flavoured muck - are the Aldi copies any good?
We find the standard Aldi own-brand one to be fine. Combined with decent tonic. I always reckon the tonic makes much more difference than the gin does, but I'm an unfixable pleb.

Was given that as a tip from the booze lady in our posh deli shop in town and agree with her completely.
Trying to use Aldi Click and Collect.
Seem to be going round in circles.

Mrs Jim serves neat gin with a tonic garnish.
