Buying - getting an inspection.

Hi All,

I will shortly be commencing my search for my first Aston Martin - an early modern V8 Vantage. I have bought and read 'The Guide' and had a prospective visit to McGurks to look at a couple of cars.

The book recommends a 3rd party inspection before buying, is this generally something folks generally go for. I generally know my way around cars and know what to look for. Is there anyone that is recommended for carrying out an inspection and any thoughts on price.

I've had a bit of a google around but not turned up much, hopefully someone will have some thoughts.

Hi, I bought my 06 V8V privately last Sept but before I did I had it inspected at McGurks as they were quite close to the seller thankfully they gave it a clean bill of health other than a few small niggles.
It cost about £200, McGurks seem to know their stuff & have a good reputation.phil

If you buy from McGurks an inspection will not be needed.
