What about the heston mince pies from waitrose?
We had some cherry ones, which were delicious but not a mince pie IMO. The lady on the checkout was raving about the lemon ones.

Thanks for doing this. I always try to sample as many as possible over the festive period but can’t be bothered munching my way through the dross. Having someone else do the legwork is much appreciated!!

I tried the Waitrose ones with plum and ginger in them and they were rather nice, though not that different.

I love these, but once the thought enters your head that the "Pine" sugar variety smell like toilet cleaner, they never seem quite as appetising...

I’m always wary of anything bastardised like different flavours or pasties, like when you have a bonfire spiced coffee and it’s just grim

We had some of those last night too, not bad at all but not exceptional and the pastry's a bit claggy.

I wasn't expecting them to launch their 'third best mince pie, nice but still behind 2006 and 1987'.

I tend to agree but I am partial to the Aldi sloe gin and Black Forest varieties.

Interesting, now I love Marks and Spencer’s and the collection ones I assume are the same mince pie as the ones that came in the all gold box last year and that’s hands down the best one there is, but not so sure about the other flavours

I’ve not eaten 10 yet!

But from last year

M&S ones in the gold box
M&S ones in the selection box with different pastries
Costa coffee one (only singles)
