The best.

Had some last year. For the price... Meh.
I completely agree, not the best, but certainly the most expensive.

Ooh I do love a good mince pie

The best are my mum's home made, obvs....

The worst I've ever had were this year with a box of Waitrose number one brown butter mince pies. Absolutely inedible- first time in my life I've not finished a mince pie. Utterly rank!

Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and M&S not boggo versions: meh.

COOP Apple and mincemeat: nice pastry, very deep filled, artificial apple flavour but very acceptable.

I’m coming around to Costco mince pies this year. Always thought they were a bit dry and spongy but I chucked one in the air fryer for 5 minutes and was quite taken with them.

Bettys pies at some point when I’m feeling flush. Always the best.

Where's Aldi and Lidl?

Lidl mince pies are always good.

I was actually thinking about this thread today and yesterday, wondering when it'd get revived.

House of Bruar Mince pies are excelent.
The pastry is like a soft shortbread in consistency and the mincemeat is not too jammy.
The are delicious.
My wife brought home 2 packs biggrin

Hot mince pies with lots of very cold whipping cream poured over the top, the breakfast of champions!

We had the Aldi iced mince pies a few weeks back. They were alright to be fair, not as sweet as Id thought they would be.

I think I’ll be in the minority but im looking forward to smashing a box of heston’s lemon ones.

The mince pie hunt is an international thing btw. Me and a mate in Dubai go through loads of them.

Absolutely not, the day Mince Pies launch in store is a good day.

Yep, I'd eat them all year round.

Tried the Lidl all butter deluxe. Too much pastry to filling and too sweet for my taste.

You have to walk past a lot of overpriced hipster tat and braying middle class coffee morning mums to get to them, but Gail's mince pies are absolutely incredible. Brown sugar topping for extra crunch - they are the Bentley Flying Spur of mince pies

£16 for 6 mince pies!!! I'm FAR too tight for that.

I haven't started this year yet, may chuck a box of tesco finest on the order this weekend and see how they are?

I recommend Lidl mince pies..

Either the standard or the De Luxe, they are both excellent.

A shout out for the Aldi puff pastry mince pies - very tasty, very more-ish.

Might try those next week, last year I thought the Lidl stuff was poor (posted a fair few pages back), same for Aldi though I could not get hold of the specials ones there which is what people really were raving about,
This year Morrisons Luxury - meh on all fronts.
Asda Luxury - nice pastry, bland filling.
