Best way to do Roast beef in Ninja Foodi 7in1? Pressure cook then air crisp or air crisp / sear then pressure cook?

All the recipes online seem to be American and talk about broiling (which I think is grilling?)

Thats right its cooking using direct heat, like a BBQ or under the grill in your oven.

I did a joint of brisket in my instant pot, I seared it on saute mode, or do this in a frying pan, added chopped veg, water & stock cube, pressure cooked it, and then put the air fryer lid on to crisp the outside. I then made gravy from the liquid.

US Grilling = UK BBQ
US Broiling = UK Grilling

The term broiler is a mid confusing as the US technically uses it for both a BBQ-style grill and the overhead heat type, however the colloquialism is that grill is to cook from underneath and broil is to cook from above.

Could someone kindly recommend an Air Fryer that is stupidly simple to use, for an old'un? It's for my mother who is 85yrs old. She still struggles to work the remote control for the tv so wouldn't dare buy her something like a Ninja AF400uk (bit tricky to get used too).

Thanks

As above, some small dial-based ones here, suitable for mainly solo cooking:

Several people on thread have used this supplier, incl. me.

I did, I bought one of these from them:

It's brill for old folks (like me), very simple controls and is also in a old fashioned oven-style format. I like being able to see how the food is cooking and whip it out before it gets burnt.

Yes, we've got the window rather than a drawer. The better to see my chicken spin hehe

I don't know if this should be in a 'council' thread, but here goes!

I was in Asda (!) a few days ago checking out their 25% off 6 or more bottles deal (ends at the weekend if you're interested) and spotted a pork shoulder joint (seasoned for some added value) at a bit less than half price. I hadn't planned the evening meal, so I bought it. When I opened it up, I saw that it had instructions for air fryer cooking on the packaging!

First time I've seen that - maybe air fryers are catching on wink The temperature/timing was a bit low for mine, but in the right ballpark and I could use my thermometer to check the internal temp to adjust.

In an update to my previous post, I'm now getting used to my combination oven. it may not be a pure air fryer but it seems to do the job.

There are only a limited set of auto cook functions but a bit of jigger pokery and I can use various combinations to get what I want, and being to use the conventional/grill and microwave simultaneously gives a lot of options. My first test was frozen oven chips as it was the first setting in the book and seemed simple, and boy does it make them better than a standard oven. It's probably worth the expense just for those!

Iceland started putting air fryer cooking times on some of their foods last year

What air fryer would you recommend for someone who also wants to cook rice in it as well?

Ninja foodie.

Can do rice in the pressure cooker mode. 1 minute cooking time then 10 venting.

Ninja have a Easter sale on some items but it's worth checking prices elsewhere in case they aren't the cheapest:

I brought an air fryer last year, put it somewhere safe, and now can't find it. Any ideas?
