Heads up:

Cross post to the Council thread? I can't begin to imagine the sudden rush on BK restaurants. I find they're dirty, understaffed places at the best of times. Must admit, the Whopper was historically a fine burger though, before the service levels slipped even lower than their previous low standards.

Have to agree that today would be a very day to avoid Burger King.

Whopper is a fine burger but the buns are crap and the chips are even worse

I haven't been to BK in ages but I always thought their chips were way better than McD's or KFC. I'll need to give them another go, will be disappointed if they're as crap as people say they now are.

That's always been the problem with BK, a well made whopper is a fine burger.

However the service, quality and overall experience is very inconsistent.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Those chips look crispy and dry, just how I like them.

That's so good, I'm willing to ignore that you've nicked my nan's table doily.

I'm probably the opposite. I like those ones that are a little bit soft/soggy. KFC fries used to be like this until they started changing it more often than people change socks.

Agree the chips are terrible now, just tasteless and if you don't eat them straight away they are inedible. I do remember they changed their fries in the early 2000's and called them King Fries, they were similar to McDonalds but had a golden cornflour coating, can't find anything online but they were miles better than they crap they serve now.

Chick Shish kebab from local Turkish kebab house. Came with a massive portion of fries and some sauces. Did the trick.

They still are soft and soggy most of the time as they are never usually cooked long enough or at a high enough temperature. The only difference now is they are thicker

I like how there is a bit poking out from the fold.

Reminds me of that scene in Alien.

Tried somewhere different last night. Kebab / burger type thing with cheesy chips and a large mixed grill...

With a dinner plate for scale.

Came with a couple of flatbreads, tray of salad and some pots of chilli sauce and mint yogurt.

Burger looks like fairly cheap meat, and yet I bet it hit the spot a way something fancier couldn't. That mixed grill looks absolutely enormous too. I can only conclude it was a damn good takeaway?
