Disappointed that eating lots of carrots will not improve your nightime vision, just a wartime wheeze to make kids eat more horrible tasting vegetables.

Not reheating rice.

Also bks.

Just don’t leave it for days.

It’s what fried rice is made from, of course.

Just lick one - what bitter juices?
That was true until a number of years ago. They’ve been cultivated over quite a few years to remove the bitterness.

Remove the chilli seeds if you want to reduce the heat.

Wrong.

It's the pith that has the excess heat; remove that.

Not a lot of people know that.

(Anyway, why would you want to use chillis, then remove the heat?)

For the flavour. I sometime add fresh and pickled jalapeños to a curry or chilli

I wasn’t wrong, but (UK) Govt food hygiene guidelines will ALWAYS err on the side of caution.
Look at the level of UK food waste.

How you cool it down is more important than how you heat it up.

100% this.

Cook a whole chicken at 170c fan oven for 10 mins less than it says on the sticker & you get moist & tasty chicken every time.

Almost all supermarket cooking instructions are total bks, because they are nothing to do with making the food taste its best. Their real purpose is to ensure that the supermarket doesn’t get sued because some idiot customer has given themselves food poisoning.

You must only eat mussels when there is an R in the month. Not true, I've eaten mussels many times when there is no R in the month.
Those are the winter months which are cooler, so without modern refrigeration eating seafood which isn’t freshly caught could be erm, problematic. vomit
Winter months are also spawning season.
Mussels spawn in summer, not winter, the issue with eating mussels in the summer is also down to algae and bacterial blooms, which could be a problem, if wild gathered. Shellfish farms sterilise mussels and oysters using ultra violet disinfection, meaning they can be sold year round.

Don;t know where I got that from getmecoat I would blame the wine... but I gave that up biggrin

Farmed mussels local to me are pretty good, Exe, Brixham etc but I still see people collecting them off the rocks which is a bit silly given they onky cost a few quid if you really want them.

Penguin biscuits use the same recipe as bourbon biscuits but with a different centre. I did watch someone online microwaving a Penguin biscuit to scrape the chocolate off revealing the bourbon stamp but it may be fake.

I regularly collect wild mussels, oysters and all other manners of things. I find it an incredibly satisfying pursuit.

If waste is the issue, cook less. Rice prepared and stored correctly is fine for most. If not then it can be lethal... the figures don't lie, especially in China.

I've seen the results of B.Cereus first hand and sacked the chefs responsible.

What, do you mean 'if incorrectly cooked'?
