A nice blue sky in Worcestershire today got me in the mood to cook outside.

Butterfly leg of lamb with a marinade consisting of red current jelly, whole grain mustard, garlic and balsamic vinegar. 165C for an hour or so until it reached 55C internal.
I rested it for 15 minutes then gave the outside a quick seer.
End result was quite satisfactory.

Watched a few videos on the best methods, will give them a go when the weather improves.
On the search for a portable bbq, ideally one that has a smaller height difference than my Weber kettle and to be used mainly for cooking things on skewers. The Weber Go Anywhere looks good as does the George Foreman clone. Anyone used either? Any alternative recommendations? The clone is a third of the price of the Weber

The WGA has a big 'aftermarket' and can be a very versatile bit of kit - but tbh I've only a little experience with one and none for any alternatives.
I've been tempted to pick one up for our camper - but invariably end up taking my pro q bullet instead which can do everything including a full roast dinner for our camping holidays.

I'm still hanging on to two ageing B&Q Vegas barbecues. I've fitted 2 pairs of new grills over the years but they are going to fall apart (literally) anytime soon!!
They tend to get most use at Le Mans.
If I could buy a couple of new ones I would! I think someone did try making and selling a few replica ones, but they seem to have dried up as well now. : I'm tempted to try the same, but reckon I'd be in big trouble with Mrs eps if I did!

For portable BBQing I have a Cadac Safari Chef 2, as much as I prefer cooking on charcoal, it is a lot less messing about when you are out, and much quicker to pack up than having to wait for coals to cool down.
This. Lives in the MH and we do all our cooking on it. Wouldn’t have anything else when out and about, especially with the paella pan.giblet said:

Cobb is with a look. Heats up quickly, outside doesnt get particularly hot, fairly flexible what you can cook on it, especially with the wok, tiny amount of ash created so easy to clean up, can use their coals which start easily so don’t need chimney starter. Ideal for camping. Downside are prices and it’s not the biggest cooking area, you cook with the lid on and as it’s round then that’ll limit how many skewers you can fit on compared to a square one.On the search for a portable bbq, ideally one that has a smaller height difference than my Weber kettle and to be used mainly for cooking things on skewers. I have 5.
2 that i use all the time. 1 gas one for easy cooks. 1 old tatty one i take to festivals etc incase it gets nicked. 1 brand new in box original ones with wooden handles in the loft.
I have many other bbqs, but always reach for the WGA if the food fits within it.
Great for hot and fast, low and slow, kebabs, rotisserie etc

That looks nifty but not as versatile as a Go AnywhereGavC88 said:

flexible. Using only half the area for charcoal and the other half for a water tray with meat above it you can do low and slow smoking.I've done pieces of chicken and salmon this way. Great for grilling steaks burgers fish etc. I use it to avoid my usual 'set the smoke detector off' cooking when in self catering. Only problem I have is finding charcoal that isn't nasty quick light stuff out in the sticks so sometimes take a bag from home.
Keeping an eye out for a WGA.
Also looking at one of these for my kettle - does anyone else have experience of them?
