Head and shoulders above for me was anything on Good Looking, such as https://soundcloud.com/blurz26/ltj-bukem-mc-conrad...

Early days: Goldie, and Carl Cox who with others formed the 'Jungle Techno' genre, which burnt out far too soon! Terminator: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vgmKf19m78

Jungle: I always liked this Jason Jay set: https://www.mixcloud.com/sarahdavies33/jason-jay-d...

The Goldie EM was a good one: https://soundcloud.com/metalheadz/goldie-essential... (that drop at 08:14!) , but I was never particularly in to the harder edge.

Movin' Shadow: Loved the more technical tracks. I thought that JMJ & Richie were seriously gifted - Montana was a favourite of mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySN_T2E4-Vo

Last time I heard this was as a chopped up intro for an Andy C set in the cowshed at Nozstock. All the DMT chickens were clucking and jerking in the strobes, good times! biggrin

A bit, erm, "industrial". The Mechanics one sounds like actual mechanics trying to remove a troublesome ball joint.

heres one of my favourites from the era

These been a bit of a re-emergence of the mid-90s sound, Goldie and Fabio in particular have been moving away from the 1999-2020 screetchy sound, at least when i have seen them play live recently.

I would give the first 60 minutes of this set a chance.

Not sure if this counts (2000) but its a banger!

My inner teenager finally got a massive sub/amp in the car which made me very happy.
Then lockdown hit and i wasnt going anywhere so i tracked down a Logitech Z5500 for my office, which is also banging.
Also helps now my wife is not WFH laugh

2000? Nah not for me, it was the start of the screetchy, screetchy tin Pan era where the producers took over from the DJs.

Discussions about when the 90s era of junglism ended is a four pint problem but I would offer one of the very last tunes was "Origin Unknown – Sound In Motion" from 1998 as cained by Brockie.

That's why I am bit enthusiastic about 2022 because they appear to be taking the Alex Reece 1994 sound and giving it a lick of paint.

Interesting!
One of my first dnb purchases was Alex Reece So far (94?) which i absolutely loved (and still do).
Then i got all trance-y and only came back to DnB recently so i've got a lot of catching up to do....but thats another thread i guess

There's one remixed track I had, and I have spent hours trying to find again to no avail so if anyone does know it, there's a beer your way. From memory it was a mix of hard-core vibes, original nuttah, sharpshooter, apache, and a few others.

The intro started:

This one is dedicated to all the fkers...fkers...fkers...

Great. I feel I'm about to go down this rabbit hole again.
