Songs that make you hairs stand on end...

- I love the lyrics in this song, first verse sends the shiver away down my spine.
There's a couple of songs that brought back a flood of anxious emotions for me the other day.I stuck on Marillion's Misplaced Childhood - hadn't played it for decades and I was amazed at just how fresh it sounded - the sound engineering and production on it are top draw.
Blue Angel & Misplaced Rendezvous brought tears to my eyes!
Bit embarrassing as I was playing it to my little fella at the time but hey.
Friends and I used to take Fish's lyrics to bits in a manner similar to the way we had to dissect Shakespeare in English Lit classes at school!
Feck - 1985 - I was 16 and had a Saturday job working in a record shop - I can remember trading my wage that day to take a copy home and playing it again and again and again.
I just put it on now to play whilst writing this post and hell - I've got a massive lump in my throat again.
An amazing album which describes so much of a miserable childhood and difficult transition into adulthood where you realise those childhood problems don't end or ever really go away.

Good choice - I actually prefer the live 'Pompeii' version.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGwPSPIhohk

Keldian Momento Mori.
Listen to the lyrics it's an astoundingly enlightening and thought provoking track. With some Fantastic riffs and solo's to go with it.

Pink Floyd - When The Tigers Broke Free - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKfwwlEcowk - This video is a bit poignant too...maybe its the motes of dust floating around in my office?
A lot of Roger Waters' stuff makes my hairs stand on end. He just has a way with sounds and lyrics.

A perfect piece of acid drenched introspective psychedelia - Laughing by David Crosby

The interview with the engineer is a pretty interesting read WRT to the skill level of Crosby's BVs, the additional names who contributed, the technique used to get the trippy droning melodic lead later in the song - discussed by the engineer in Mix Magazine 2005:

Also an interview with Crosby about the solo album it was taken from as discussed for Radio 4's Mastertapes series (although I've not listened to the programme):

Also, no link but every time I see afterglow by Genesis as part of a suite of oldies it always sends tingles.
