Hi guys
Currently own an Granturismo and i feel i need to scratch that V12 thing🙄
I've started looking at FF about 2 months ago and it seems the same cars are on the market..nothing really has moved. Some dropped in price others at the same price. Are they hard to sell when times come to move on? Do they suffer from expensive common faults?
There's one priced just under 80k does anyone know something about that car?

I can't help you with the car in question but please read This PH Thread as it probably has all the info you need to know about the pros and cons of buying and running an FF.

It's a shame you're only just looking now as a reallly well sorted car was sold by a PH member on CC last month for a song last and has now been marked up by £15-20k at a dealer.

I contacted the owner about this one a while back, when it was on at just under £90k. I spoke to him a couple of times, and he sent me a video of it on cold start. He promised to send me more details of the paperwork behind the car, but never did. He was pretty open that he'd had a couple of PTU 'fault lights' but each time it was just a case of topping up with fluid. Set off massive warning bells for me, given how expensive the PTU is when it goes.
He was happy to take it to a local dealer (I think Meridien Modena is his nearest) for me to get a PPI done. MM quoted me about £600 for that I think. However, I wasn't convinced that if it showed up a load of issues needed for me to get it back under warranty, he'd be willing to drop the price to reflect that, and then I'd be £600 out, so didn't pursue it.
As I said, the seller didn't seem in any way dodgy, being open with the history, and happy to have it inspected, but it just had me sufficiently worried that I decided against. If it's still on in a couple of months I might go in with a cheeky offer!

A PTU which needs constant topping up is a sure sign of one with a ruptured seal which means it needs a rebuild with improved seals (and selector forks in one instance). This can be done at Furlongers (uprated bespoke seals) or AAutotech (new seal and fork design) for about £8k.

A blown PTU is no longer the £25k liability it once was.

You considering a Rapide S? I'm looking at both them and the FF. Either way, though, I'm going to lose a packet... The Aston will continue to depreciate, and the FF will almost certainly need a ton of stuff doing to it.

Haven't decided yet whether I'm OK with that or not, in exchange for lovely V12 goodness.

It's just come on again via a dealer.

More money, but you get the notional protection of a warranty. I'd nonetheless be getting it fully inspected before purchasing.

Thanks for this….the PTU issues the previous owner has does put me off…and I cannot see the dealer warranty covering this if it fails in the first few months.

May sit tight and see if it sells…

Yeah. I'm thinking the same. Or offering them £5k more if they get a Ferrari warranty on it. In theory that only costs £1,700 so they could make a tidy profit on it. In reality I suspect that won't happen.

Mind you, given the way petrol prices seem to be going, I might have to abandon my V12 dream altogether!

Interestingly it's now gone up in price to £92,500! Wonder if that's because it's been inspected and had work done to fix it. Or whether it's just plain greed!

Greed I reckon…!

I’d be wanting a Ferrari warranty at that value. Especially knowing they probably paid £15k less than their asking price.
