Turin, Italy this yearbiggrin

Of course we go straight to the final as one of the "Big Five".

40 Countries this year after Russia were excluded.

Seems to be a week earlier with the final on 14th May.

Sam Ryder with Space Man is the UK Entry

I think this year it will be a case of who's going to come second

Well I've had a listen to all of the entries, and to be honest it's very thin gruel.
Ukraine's entry is pretty bonkers but will win for obvious reasons.
I rather like our entry by Sam Ryder and I think we might do a bit better than usual, i.e. not last place! Perhaps a respectable top ten finish?

The bookies also seem to like the entries from Sweden and Italy although I can't see why.
I like Austria's song, or if you want something weird and wacky check out Moldova's effort.

This site has all the entries with odds and videos: https://eurovisionworld.com/odds/eurovision

So, bring on the semi finals and hopefully get rid of some of the dross!

We would still come last if Russia was in it.

I wonder if Ukraine will actually get the votes to win, once the other countries realise the winner is the following years hosting country?

Uk are 4th favourites at 10/1.

Cannot believe that this kitsch drivel is still going and that the BBC doles out some daft amount of money for the privilege of screening it. Half of it is sub-mediocrity, the other half boring bureaucracy. Much like the EU.

Norways entry is brilliantly daft!

I quite like our entry too, though politics dictate we'll finish last hehe

Excellent!! I'm in for the scathing comments.

Already ramping up the cattiness to max.....

Hopefully Italy have found suitable hosts. A 6'4" transsexual that identifies as an avocado and a dwarf would do it. Hopefully they don't give up and dig up Mussolini.

I’m not sure the vast majority of Ukrainians will be watching/care/be able to vote ?

Ukraine will win surely?
If it's all going to be about Ukraine and those who are helping them, then the UK might not come last for a change

Of course they will, hence my comment about who will come second?

Always love a bit of Eurovision. Never watch the qualifying though.

Clearly Ukraine will win.
Given Brexit is now “done” not so raw for Europe maybe we might not be last? But either way it’s fun.

If Russia was there zero points would be a guaranteed

My favourite last night was Moldova. Made me laugh. Unfortunately Lizzo didn't qualify.

Moldova's entry is properly mad, but great fun. "Hey Ho, let's go, folklore and rock 'n roll!"
Although Norway's banana wolves (yes, really) are equally bonkers.
I couldn't believe Austria didn't qualify because their entry was a proper banger and had the live audience jumping. Oh well.
The sweetest, and perhaps saddest song is Portugal's "Saudade, saudade"; very gentle with a great melody.

Looking forward to tomorrow's second semi final.
