Which is what I have been saying since they made the announcement.
It is not only if a driver needs help, but as they will not be allowed to even push cars, then unless a car can pull up well clear of the track, then it will be safety car (with only the driver in) to enable a recovery.
Can the safety car not have 2 people in it wearing ppe?It is not only if a driver needs help, but as they will not be allowed to even push cars, then unless a car can pull up well clear of the track, then it will be safety car (with only the driver in) to enable a recovery.

Could just send recovery + a 4x4. That 2 peeps.
I don't see it's a major issue unless it's a major shunt
You can't put recovery onto a live circuit without "nuterlising" the race. As we don't do "full course yellows" and no one seems to use code 60 in the UK (currently) then the options are safety car or red flag. I don't see it's a major issue unless it's a major shunt

I think CSCC use Code 60Drumroll said:
From what I have seen there is a fair bit of debate on this. There are problems using radios and face masks. Most hands free systems use a boom mike, that is not the best with a mask. Having just the driver means no need for a mask. Like so many things about this, what seems straight forward, isn't.
Speaking as a safety car driver I don’t really see an issue with running solo. It’s a bit more to do and allowances will need to be made when observing car numbers in mirrors etc but I think on the whole it should be manageable without any issues.Speaking as an instructor (and safety car driver) I fully support not sitting in enclosed spaces with other people for extended periods right now irrespective of PPE.

Speaking as an OAP more like....
That's a bit cruel. I can think of one safety car that could easily have 2 people in it. (apart from the age thing) Tony Sugden and his partner. Tony has just published a book celebrating his 70 years in motorsport.

Tony and Rose, lovely people. It's a great shame John isn't still with us.I can think of one safety car that could easily have 2 people in it. (apart from the age thing) Tony Sugden and his partner. Tony has just published a book celebrating his 70 years in motorsport.

Steve H - You say:
"Speaking as an instructor (and safety car driver) I fully support not sitting in enclosed spaces with other people for extended periods right now irrespective of PPE."
It will be happening in the medical car and in circuit ambulances (with PPE), but if you have noticed on the road, most crews haven't been wearing masks in the front. That will have to change from 15/06 as Hancock has made it mandatory for all NHS staff.

I notice that BSB have just issued their new calendar, 6 rounds starting 7/9 August. I'm guessing that Toca will be next.
Will be interesting how they handle team numbers etc as BSB paddocks are packed with team members/ hanger onners plus all of the other infrastructure.
BTCC announced a while back...Will be interesting how they handle team numbers etc as BSB paddocks are packed with team members/ hanger onners plus all of the other infrastructure.

Dan - Are you sure 750MC has announced. There are no actual calendars on their website in spite of what they claim!
