New California Regulations

I just read in the Dec issue of Car Craft Magazine that California has relaxed it's requirements for self built (kit) cars. Basically it said they don't have to meet current regulations.
In Illinois, where I live, there's such a thing as a show car exemption from emissions, which is the avenue I'll pursue if necessary.

Yes, I read that, too but can't remember in what magazine. What I read is that the dude who proposed that bill owns a kit car himself. Imagine that, a politician driving a kit car. It didn't say what it was, though.
