We’ve had enough of Sky Stream, it’s absolutely awful - interface isn’t very well designed for usability, no ability to record, remotes keep breaking, and it just seems a lot of money to watch programmes that are basically just being streamed from their respective streaming services (so watching BBC is basically just an iPlayer stream).

Looking for a decent deal to get back to Sky Q

Signed up gor a new 18 month, £59 contract before Xmas. Just got the email saying its going up £8. Absolute rip off.
I can't bin the TV , but I understand I can cancel the broadband so I'll be looking to bin them off ASAP.
Knew I should've cancelled last year.

May I ask the package for that?

Even post price hike, that’s nowhere near my own ‘retention package’…..

I really like Stream. I find the picture quality superb, have never not been able to watch something because I've missed it.
Remote works fine.
I have got it connected by ethernet and have had no problems at all apart from having to unplug it a couple of times.

I'm wondering what he expects to record his programmes on, given the size of the device?

When you catch the rest of us up in the year 2023, you’ll find hard discs aren’t the size of shoes boxes anymore…

The remote control is a very common issue

I’ve not experienced connection problems with Stream

My main gripe is the user interface, it’s poor. Most of the issues reported with Glass are common to Stream also.

I know they're not, flash cards are small, but why would Sky put in any storage at all into such a small device? No one else does and Micro SD cards are prone to failure.

Hi PH experts.
My current Sky 'contract' ends 31st and prices increase. Are there any sky deals that can bring the cost down or alternatives?

Current package and costs:

TV (£71.13)
Sky HD
SKY Q – 1 mini box
Sky Signature
Sky Cinema
Ultimate TV add on (inc Netflix)
Multiscreen

BroadBand superfast& PAYtalk (£28.88)

Latest bill £100.01

Future bill £107.50
(TV £76.00)
(BB & PAYT £31.50)

We do watch a few of the series on Sky Atlantic etc, so would be a preference to retain if moving toan alternative package/provider

thanks!

was on £54, thev were putting it up to over 90 (or that's what they said on phone re full price)

chatted online and got nothing much, 2 days to cancellation date and got a message to call in, "offer" price still higher than what I was paying before

looks like i'm off to VM as already have phone and BB with them, prefer the Sky setup but not at that price

Cancelled my Sky over a year ago now, not missed it at all TBH ( the Sky Discovery+ subscription still works!)
Just using freeview now & a few apps.
Virgin 250mbps BB @ £20.75.

I’d never go back to Sky/Virgin Tv

I’ve just upgraded my sky + box to sky Q because they couldn’t offer me any deals on my old system (not sure I believe them but what can you do).

anyway now got sky Q- movies, sports, whatever the thing is that includes netflix, and my bill is now £61/month. the crazy thing is we really don’t watch much tv, rarely watch movies, but do watch f1. so it does seem overkill to pay that, but as a ‘nice to have’ and be able to watch whatever is on whenever we want, it doesn’t seem that bad per month

I’ve just renewed as we move house next week. Was on the most basic package for the last month so think I’ve got a reasonable deal to renew as I went down the fully cancelling route.

Was looking at BT but that looks more expensive than sky no idea what I’m actually paying as it’s the usual discounted deals per item but seems to work out quite a bit cheaper than before for a similar package.

I've just received a mail from Sky saying that full fibre broadband is now available in my area, can one of the helpful Sky employees let me know if there are any deals on it please.

Jon,

Do you have any offers for existing customers? I'm coming off my contact (£13 for basic Sky plus HD) and my broadband (VM) is ending so shopping around.

Thanks.

Thanks, got your email. Will look over the offers and let you know if any work. It may be worth me trying to renegotiate the existing package as these seem just a bit above. But if any make sense I'll email you back. Thank you.
