No alarms in my (updated today) iOS app either. The new app is really poor. I’ve also ‘lost’ a couple of Sonos devices from my system and the inability to edit a queue is seriously frustrating.
If you've only updated the app they won't show - you'll need to also run a system update on the speakers.
Speakers were already updated too. It seems to be a know issue. Today’s update brings alarms for some people but not others. It appears that sometimes they will just arrive after a while. In my case I’ve had updated app and speakers since 7 this morning and still nothing.

I did have to search around for a device (my iPad eventually) that would actually update my speakers. The iPhone app would keep failing with an 1005 error (speaker can’t rejoin WiFi).

It’s a mess.

On Android it's possible to go back by deleting the app and manually installing the APK file of the previous version.
Thanks, can you provide any more info on installing the APK file ? I had a quick look on my phone and obtaining the older app looked slightly dodgy.

Thanks for the heads up on this!
They are obviously working agile dev ops and releasing an MVP, but I’d say that being able to see and select speakers to play music on is rather important, and should be stable before release!

To add another issue to the app woes, I had a new service repayment play Play Bar turn up this week that won't pair. Four hours on the phone to Sonos the other day trying everything to no avail. The new app won't even update the existing speakers, but the Mac desktop app works fine, but doesn't pair devices. They've asked me to send the unit back to them for as it needs an update prior to pairing. This points more to being an app (IOS) issue.
I have friend coming around tonight with an Android phone, so I'm going to try on a different platform prior to sending the unit away.

Has anyone had issues re-authorising Apple Music? I seem to be stuck with this screen:

Edit: I have solved this with help from a Reddit link. It seems I needed to remove the Apple Music link from the Sonos app and then reconnect it. Link here:

Apparently people have been looking at the communication between the app and the internet and there is genuine concern that they are essentially going to require internet access to communicate with your speakers. This means that if you have no access, you can’t even listen to your own music from a NAS or a record player or use the speakers connected to your tv properly.

On and I still have no alarm control.

And I miss the easy mute function.

As to updating speakers, some did it automatically, some refused to with my iPhone app but happily did it with my iPad app………

I noticed my app button had change from gold to black a few days ago. I have never found the app very good and it is now worse again.

I shan't be extending my Sonos kit any further due to it, as ease of use is a big part of the joy of Sonos. Seemingly no longer.

From https://support.sonos.com/en-gb/article/the-new-sonos-app-and-future-feature-updates

"Update WiFi settings: mid-June"

Don't change your WiFi network between then and now! What an absolute shambles. Releasing a half-baked update that strips critical features from the previous iteration and seems to have been barely tested.

Another frustration (though maybe niche) is that you still can’t see which tracks are Atmos before playing them.

As Atmos is the major selling point of the ERA 300 this is an annoying omission.

I'm still pissed off from the S1 to S2 bricking debacle, this update would've sent me over the edge laugh

There's a link in this post on the Sonos forums, I've actually got rid of the single Sonos I used to own after the last major update so haven't tried it myself.

Thanks, I managed to downgrade to the 16.1 version. It's telling me one of my speakers needs an update to use it and to do that I'd need to update the App. There's no way I'm doing that !

I guess I'll just need to live with it for now. I'm a bit happier but still bloody annoyed at Sonos for this crap app upgrade that destroyed my system.

I’ve managed to get all my speakers talking to each other AND my alarms suddenly reappeared. I’m slightly less miffed.

Came here to see if anyone else was having issues since the update..... eekhehe

I can no longer connect to my speaker at all (an old Play 3). Have tried a hard reset then going through the connection process but I can only get so far..... Has anyone had similar and managed to get the speaker back online?!

Can't say I've noticed much difference tbh as I only used my Sonos as AirPlay speakers anyway, which has always sucked stability wise.

Shame really as the hardware and sound signature are both excellent, but the WiFi stability and software are utter sht.

It's almost like the sound engineers and software engineers at Sonos are separate companies who don't collaborate.

Apples own smart speakers behave flawlessly by comparison, but they don't sound anywhere near as good.

I take back anything I might have said about my system working OK. It's not.

From the PC, I cannot see all of my speakers - one refuses to show up.

From both the PC and Android apps, I cannot reference my NAS, where my music library resides.

Shambles.

I'm on a chat with Sonos un-helpdesk.

My other speaker eventually turned-up in the listing but I cannot access my music library now because my NAS is only SMBv1 which I had made an allowance for in Windows, however the new Sonos app does not allow SMBv1 at all, and she's telling me I cannot downgrade to the previously working version.

I have asked to log a complaint with Sonos for this reason but my call-handler is completely ignoring my request for this.

I'm not going to buy another NAS just for this purpose... although maybe this is a good time to sell the remaining Sonos kit I have as a number of you have already indicated you want to.

You will be able to find the old app online somewhere, but I can definitely see why you would consider chucking in the towel
They have form for this type of thing and it's bound to happen again at some stage in the future.

Mine has been even more shiny over the last couple of days.
