Ipod and i-something

Don't know if this is the correct forum. Sorry.

I have the new Nano. I also have an i-trip thing which I used with the nano version 1 (until I shut that nano in the car door). Now the new Nano plugs into the i-trip but nothing happens on the i-trip?

Are they not compatible anymore?

What do i need to get my Ipod to play in the car??
