KEF 1005.2 Vs Mordaunt Short Premiere Vs Jamo A102HCS5

I'll be buying one of the three above tomorrow. I can't decide, and i can't find anywhere to audition the MS Premiere's.

So far i am happy with my initial choice of Kef.

Mainly for movies, a little bit of gaming and background music only (streaming through xbox).

I have the Jamos, and they are amazing for such a small speaker. I was truly staggered by their sonic performance. Recommended.

I also have KHT5005s and they are pretty good, but... the Jamos aren't that far behind them. Although that may be the amp.

We say Jamo ( we sell Kef as well ) and match with an Onkyo amp ( SR577/SR607 ) if you can. The Kefs have just gone up in price and make the Jamo's even more of a bargain.

i was looking at Denon AVR1909 instead of the 607?

the denon does 1080p upscaling but the inputs are SkyHD, Xbox 360 and Sony BDPS350 blu ray so that kind of negates any upscaling required? All inputs will be full HD anyway..

I have the Jamo's too, I didn't hear the KEF's before I bought though. I just went on online reviews.

I'm very happy with the quality of the product & the sound.

The jamo's never seem to have a bad word said about them, people are comparing them to packages at twice the price, the kefs are well regarded but people seem to upgrade quiker from these and there not very well thought of with music & the subs seem to be a weak point reliability wise.

The sub is the main issue with the Kef 1005 IMO - it just doesnt cut it at the price point unless you have a very modest sized room.

As for the upscaling you will not need it with those sources - scaling will be completed in the player. I am not a dealer for Denon so cant say how it will work with the Jamos but I dont think the amp will upscale HDMI with that model , more than likely just analogue video inputs.

the other half! Nah. I got the kef's at a great price and although i couldn't listen them back to back, i was more impressed with the brighter more open sound of the kef's. The jamo's sounded a little too "directional" if that makes sense?
