He may not, bot it wouldn't take too many functioning brain cells to figure that a coat that retails at >£1k is unlikely to be that common. I mean, there was an episode a few series ago where the 2 dimwits went shopping in Tesco for plain clothing. They might not have been bright enough to work out they were on camera buying the stuff, but at least they'd got as far as figuring that wearing plain clothing might be a good idea.

But then again, what'a a guy that's making enough to buy such a coat doing getting involved in a robbery for 2 watches that they've already acknowledged might not be worth much?

I was thinking it more likely to have been stolen.
If not and the geezer did actually pay £1300 for it could he not be challenged to prove were the funds came from?
Proceeds of Crime Act or something?
He didn`t seem the type to be legitimately earning on that sort of level.

From his past offences he was known to be a drug dealer that had a history of committing violence.He could have been earning enough to afford the designer clothing.

My point exactly, income from drug dealing is hardly legitimate earnings. You`d have thought it would be a free hit for someone to look into his finances.
If he`s buying coats for £1300 there`ll be other similar stuff and, presumably, no provable legal access to the funding.
Aren`t those Government Auctions where confiscated items such as these are sold off?

Complete waste of time, what if it was a gift to him etc. no point wasting yet more time and money on nonsense.

Re the black girl - they admitted in the end to at least 6 previous offences of the same type if I recall correctly, so tough tittie she’s no better than them. If they coughed to 6, there would have been a lot more. Greed.

This was relatively local to me,and in the local news they said the jcoat was traced to him via a credit card purchase.
I think the others got extremely light sentences-they grassed him up I bet!!

Karma was him serving 5years. If he was making a genuine effort to turn his life around and hold down a proper job then it's a fairly tragic turn of events for him and his family..

Said before but the older lady was a proper nasty piece of work.

I still think this case had an element of revenge to it, the robbing aspect was an aside for them.

I assume they would get more time if it was pre meditated?

I was surprised one was convicted of murder, stabbing in the leg is not really the surest way of killing somebody. From what I saw it looked to me that it was a robbery gone wrong but I couldn't see why somebody would hire a car travel to the victims home for a couple of obvious fake Rolex's to split between 4 or did they believe they was something worth more there, drugs?

It was pre meditated hence why they didn't accept his event of it and he wanted to plead guilty to manslaughter.

They thought he had drugs. In the recovered conversation between the two women played towards the end of episode one you can hear one of them say “We’ll get more for the drugs than the watch”.

Biggest Cities are Peterborough (which is decent) and Cambridge. But Cambridge is tiny.

There is big wealth divide between professionals working in tech and students vs those in low paid jobs, or unemployed. Latter live on outskirts and some places are not that nice.

Uni /colleges owns most of the centre and this pushes up the prices, so people pay silly money for property (like GBP0.5m for a small flat near the station)

As an example of the divide the students and locals would use different names for the same club...and students don't go out in town centre on weekends.
