Really enjoyed that. Its just what it is, no doubt people will be along in due course that expected something else and were disappointed.
A great way to kill an hour and a half while off work with a knackered ankle!

Not the best but no way anywhere near the worst they’ve done.
I enjoyed it.

Amazing scenery and cinematics are one of the biggest strengths of the Grand Tour and both of these were lacking due to the appalling weather they filmed in. Most of the time we couldn’t see much beyond the cars they were driving.
I know filming schedules are probably very tight but outdoor filming in Scotland in anything other thing other than mid summer is madness.
The brief section with the muscle cars and bridge building section were superb though.

I’m sure they said it was Uist. Not sure if north or south.

Do you mean the island or the bar?
I think the latter is this place however I may be wrong

Yes, the bar they went to certainly wasn’t on Uist.

I quite enjoyed it but can understand the criticisms.

The Outer Hebrides are definitely one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Didn't really understand the ending, unless I'm trying to read too much into it.

Hammond's trip into the drink was a genuinely laugh out loud moment for me.
I think the ending was just commenting on how everything is made in china these days, or it was a reference to things that happened last year like the Pizza Express bit.

That was truly awful. Completely over scripted and not just in terms of dialogue, but the set pieces too. It’s as if they tried to tick as many boxes as possible

mongolia had its moments, and season three felt like they had finally figured things out. Now it’s back to square one. Not a single thing felt spontaneous. I get the show has always been scripted but such it’s never been with such little effort or cares this and Madagascar just comes across as the entire team being jaded and all out of ideas

Also felt like there was some pandering to USA! USA! USA! too by intercutting with “yeah our cars are ste but wow look how great these were or this was by America”

Didn’t work for me. Worst cars to take to Scotland. I was intrigued by the cars for the first twenty minutes, then, well, they are rubbish. Big, but rubbish. Boring big rubbish. Yes better than am allegro, but they went thirty years ago.

The disaster with Hammonds Charger was utterly heartbreaking. Totally feked.

The rally crossing, meh.

The bridge drive was meh.

Caravans, meh.

Mods, meh.

Didn’t get the ending. A year ago I might have said, well, it’s the covid angle, the Chinese have won the world war and taken over everything. But it just don’t make sense.

Nope. Most forgettable.

Jesus wept, 90 minutes wasted watching three old men doing the minimum required to meet their contractual obligations.

James May has thrived, doing all sorts of brilliant little series from the kids toys stuff, to the reassembler, even the cooking show.

Clarkson’s off doing his farm, which I loved - a visual love-affair with the Cotswolds.

Hammond’s struggling to find his new strength, but he’s about to embark on some car restoration stuff which I’m sure will be great if he can just stop fking about all the time.

The Grand Tour just needs to be put out it’s misery. It’s been great fun, but the party is over.

Thought that was absolutely brilliant. One of their best specials.

Maybe it helps being a American car enthusiast.

I actually took my last Mustang around Scotland last September (which must be roughly the time this was filmed?)
The Applecross Pass was tricky enough in a mustang!

Not sure which was funnier, May opening his caravan door and getting hit by the wave of water, Clarkson loosing his caravan, or Hammond sinking the boat. All 3 had me on the floor pissing myself hehe

I think the pun at the end was that the Chinese virus is everywhere........?

It doesn't, seeing as some of us still enjoy it.

That is certainly it. It’s about 800m from my house.
There’s a yank car meet every month - I _presume_ that’s why they were there but decided to not use the footage.

It certainly wasn’t the inside of the bar.

Hang on a minute.

How does a loose caliper on the front wheel of a rear wheel drive charger "cause the gearbox to seize up and blow the engine"?? If anything it would just bring the car to a loud, smoky stop - non?

I'd bet a testicle that is correct.

Hmm. I've really enjoyed the Grand Tour specials up to now, but something about this fell a bit flat. The cars were fantastic, and they did alright justice to the scenery given the weather they had. But the interplay between the three and the humour just felt a bit more phoned in this time. Most of the other specials I could go back and enjoy again (the Mekong Delta one especially), but I don't think I'd bother with this one.
