Well this got a better response than I thought smile , I liked it too but I thought the replies here about MacFarlane in a live action thing would be somewhere between marmite and Adam Sandler. Happy to be wrong.

I must have missed or forgot Bashir's dad in Star Trek, because I saw him and thought 'Hey, Raj's dad!' hehe . Looking forward to it hopefully being shown on a UK channel, or Amazon/Netflix (Lucifer episodes are put on Amazon Prime the day after they are shown on Fox).
I'll give any sci-fi a fair shake. I do think Macfarlane is a painfully limited one note pony (even smaller performing rage) who has failed at pretty much everything because he thinks he is far funnier than he is (like Sandler), but it's sci-fi at the end of the day, and Red Dwarf and Hyperspace are still fresh in the memory. biggrin

Looking forward to Orville vs Cuddles the Monkey.

Last man standing through to the final with Keith Harris.

Saw it advertised while watching NFL on Sunday. Looked like it could be quite good.

Couldn't find out when or if it's being aired in the U.K. though. Which leaves finding other means to watch it. wink

The critical reviews have been quite scathing of the early episodes so it remains to be seen how accurate they are.

Thought it was great. Very TNG feel about it but has loads of potential.

Ignore the critics.

I did wonder if it might pop up on Amazon in the UK (it already has in the US - https://www.amazon.com/The-Orville-Season-1/dp/B07...

It's a Fox production, as is Lucifer which is on Fox in the US but Amazon in the UK ....

I was disappointed in the opening episode.

It's not quite a comedy or a drama, nor is it a homage like Galaxy Quest.

I'm surprised McFarlane hasn't been sued by whoever owns TNG over copyright.

Watched it last night and enjoyed it. The incidental music made me think that I was watching Star Trek Voyager!!

Looks like it will be on Fox in the UK, so Sky or Virgin.

There were two cameos in the first episode.

Anyone else spot the special effects error with the missing shuttle craft?

I find most reviewers and critics spout utter ballst most of the time and are mostly wrong.

Much prefer making my own mind up. Personally enjoyed the first episode. I like the subtle humour. I just hope they don't try and make it stupid and sacrifice story and characters for a cheap laugh.

I really enjoyed the first episode. Just enough scifi geekiness and subtle comedy to detract from Seth F**king McFarlane's face.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's brilliant and Family Guy is one of the best shows ever, I just can't stand him when he's on screen himself.

See also: his terrible attempts at making films.
