Film that starts off with a guy on a ledge several floors up on a building as he had to, “leave” when his lovers husband returns.
Film then starts at the beginning as the ledge scene was at the end of the film.
If I recall there was a French and an American version both of which were enjoyable.
The lead in the American version may have been Gene Wilder. Probably 1970’s.
The Woman In Red? Film then starts at the beginning as the ledge scene was at the end of the film.

Pardon Mon Affaire being the French original?
A few years ago I saw an animated film where a black monster / creature is chasing a man across a beautiful landscape. There’s no dialogue and he’s the only human. The path is marked out by arches. And the guy is on a motorbike for much of it. He finds a colony of cats, a heard of elephants and a tiny bird.
I think the name of the film was a single word.

This is driving me mad, it’s on the tip of my tongue.
I think it’s a sci-fi film and at the end the main character says “But the lies, the awful lies”.
Got any more info to go on? I think it’s a sci-fi film and at the end the main character says “But the lies, the awful lies”.
I did think it was Interstellar but searched for lie/lies in the script and found nothing. I do have a strong feeling that it was this film though and perhaps not at the end. It might be the way they lied about the mission having a plan A where they could come back to earth.
So maybe it was something like “lies” but not exactly that word.
So I have one, kind of Conan the Barbarian, the scene I recall, a chap is captured and part of the prize for being caught is to be tied to a greased pole in such a manner that slowly he is suffering a large pointy stick travelling up his bottom. I think I must have gone out to play before the inevitable happened, maybe why I can't remember the film. Anyone going to own up to watching even if they do remember?

I remember that! I think it was Conan and you needn’t have worried as I seem to remember he got saved by someone, possibly Conan’s love interest.ETA Actually possibly not Conan. There weee a few films of that ilk around at the time. We used to rent them out on VHS (and rent the machine too!) back in the day. Happy times!
Wasn’t The Sword And The Sorcerer was it?

That sounds like Cannibal Holocaust to me.Ok,this sprang I to my head and it's doing my nut in.
This film has an unassuming lead, who I think has his wife, or family killed, and he goes round killing the perpetrators.
He drives a car which may may be part of the title or the colour of the cat, although I can't remember!
(Details may be wrong to a degree of ineptitude and middle aged memory.)
I don't recall much dialogue. He's quite stalkerish.
ETA is 90's/00's.

Sounds like it could be, there are a few versions. Movies in 1998 (Dolph Lundgren), 2004 (Thomas Jane) and 2008 (Ray Stevenson), the Netflix MCU series now on Disney (Jon Bernthal) and a short on YouTube by Adi Shankar called Dirty Laundry (Thomas Jane again)Gassing Station | TV, Film, Streaming & Radio | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
