We generally enjoy SW and its done well to keep up its storylines and characters after so many years. However, this week's two-parter had me gnashing my teeth and turning into a grumpy old BBC critic (which I'm generally very much not). In two hours of story they managed to cover off all the following SJW woke issues:

Gentleman's Club 19th century attitudes - check
White male privilege power - check
Domestic violence male on female - check
Controlling relationship female on female - check
Open lesbian public affection - check
Paraplegic in trad macho environment (police) - check
Bullying of said paraplegic by ignorant boss - check
Court judgements having no emotion - check
Abusive relationship of parents (for main character) - check
Murder by the lest likely statistically - check

I'm all for inclusivity and would label myself a liberal if pushed (prepare for PH incoming) but the amount of right-on script crammed into 2 hours became a joke.

Anyways - rant over, back to some more fantastical stiuff next week thumbup

I've given up watching it for all these PC reasons. It's nothing like life is.

Yep, Silent Wokeness!

Enjoyed Nikki doing her usual patronising speech. Such a dislikeable character.

The back and forth with Clarissa/Jack is the best bit of this show.

I was thinking the same thing, without quite the same level of detail. It's enjoyable, but it does get a bit irritating and preachy sometimes a lot.

I think he's already found out judging by this comment:

Ah yes silly me, I'm colourblind, I didn't even realise Megham Markle was black until someone got upset.

Did I miss the Climate Change angle ?

The ethnic diversity is probably the most realistic part of Silent Witness these days.

Sorry, really don't see an issue. Had to have a look to see what "Woke" was.

And how in hell did that copper in the wheelchair get down the railway embankment. I don’t know if he’s actually in a wheelchair but he wasn’t a great actor. I kept thinking it was Ross Kemp!

Thought the best bit was when ninja magic murder solving hero man said “you know what I hate most?”
Awful condescending cow bag woman replied “discrimination.”

They should sack everyone and leave it all to Clarissa. She does all the hard graft.
And, could any forensic pathologists on here tell us if they have ever joined a police raid (or got to the scene just before the police) and prevented yet another grisly murder taking place?

It was total ste

My wife (a child protection social worker) was amazed at how inaccurately the family court was shown and virtually everything the social worker said and did.

Poor research, poor story, poor acting.

Total ste.

And anyone using 'woke' should be shot ! wink

I read this thread to hopefully see an answer to this question, I assumed it was her husband, I can’t think of a reason why her murderer friend would kill her! Would have been nice if they’d explained it.

Google definition of woke....... "alert to injustice in society, especially racism"

If being 'woke' is wrong, what is right?

It's more a case of 'wokeness' (I do hate the term too) becoming very cliche, like people simply trying to one-up each other to seem the most woke, and most inclusive, that it eventually just feels disingenuous..

Being aware of injustice, inequality etc, is fine and should be encouraged, but going above and beyond what is practically required just to pat yourself on the back, well....
