Enjoying Temple, wouldn’t say it’s highly recommended but worth giving the first 15min a look to see if it’s your thing.

I started the diplomat but found the first few minutes did not encourage me, does it change tack or carry on in a similar style?
One episode into temple. Quite good so far

I didn’t love the diplomat in the first episode. But now I’ve watched the lot because I loved it. Keep going.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway

This has a 6.8 on IMDb and 86% on Rotten Tomatoes, but did absolutely nothing for me. It was just so slow-paced and boring.

I was really into Gundam back in the day (I even own the DVD box set of Gundam Wing and the holographic box edition of Endless Waltz) and I love mecha. But this was totally not for me.
I watched this when it came out and had the same thoughts. The only gundam series I’ve that I liked was gundam wing.
There was one they had a few years back that I enjoyed but can't remember the name of, other than that Iron Blooded Orphans was pretty solid, in part because the whole Gundam thing while continously present & integral is really just a frame for the rest of the story. Not a happy story arc but interesting.

“Man on the inside” Ted Danson nails it again, has “The good place” vibes.
Mrs 22 said let's give this a go and we binged it over 2 days. Not side-splittingly funny but a few good laughs and enough character development to find some bits a tougher watch.

Just came across The Recruit on Friday. I've already blitzed four episodes and loving it so far. Well written, funny, and cool action sequences.

for the over 40s only but it's one of the funniest shows I've seen in about 15 years. It's in Spanish and it's very well written and produced.

If anyone has developed an interest in One Piece since various bits and pieces have appeared on Netflix, I accidentally found out that iPlayer currently has the first 750-ish episodes (grouped by story arc) and is busy adding more.

It'd take a serious time commitment to watch all the way through up to date...

I am binging Gangs of London, very good so far.
Season 1 is great, some visceral action scenes. Season 2 is appalling, gave up after a few episodes.
Just got up to date with the final episode last night. Set up nicely for series 3.

I'm not particularly squeamish but did have to look away once or twice. The hand being torn apart for example!

The diplomat is pretty good, really enjoyed series 1 but the second series is getting a bit silly.
I agree. I'm halfway through S2 and I'm starting to think it's going off the boil. Maybe it picks up.
It does
Yeah it does and now I can’t wait for S3!

Know Ted Danson is a red rag to some but quietly enjoying Man on the Inside. A quite stupid comedy in a retirement home with Danson as a remarkably inept elderly recruit / amateur assistant to a private investigator. Harmless stupidity from the people who brought you Parks and Recreation plus Brooklyn Nine Nine.

Plus as someone observed above, Diaz!!!!!!!!!!!

Stephanie Beatriz, Didi in this, played Detective Rosa Diaz in Nine-Nine.

This might help https://youtu.be/Cr8N3xwvonY?si=nJxNyEltUXQfLINV

Not that anyone really needs telling we are an over consuming wasteful society but the numbers chucked about really make you think...
And considering they only needed to highlight companies beginning with A. Adidas, Amazon, Apple..... paperbag

Very, very late to the party but just finished S2 of House of Cards...

What an incredible show, I can't decide if it's enhanced or diminished by what we now know about Spacey and the parallels with his character.

We also enjoyed Man on the Inside over a couple of evenings. Look forward to the next series.

I started watching Breeders last night - watched 3 or 4 episodes.
Not sure what to make of it yet - it was mildly amusing, but there are some dark undertones with Martin Freemans character.

I'm currectly binging Cold Call - very good so far.

Film wise, A Man Called Otto (Hanks) is worth watching as is Roman J Israel (Denzel). When either actor is involved you can't really go wrong.

I made the mistake of watching Gunpowder the other day, thinking it might be a fair representation of the history of the Gunpowder plot.

As soon as Guy Fawkes was shown (a shaved head, incredibly built tough guy with a scar over his face) I realised it was a bit silly. There were made up stories, ridiculous fight scenes and piss poor acting. Avoid.
