LOUDERMILK has popped up on Netflix from Amazon. I love it and you’ll know if it’s for you by watching the first episode when they have to move the therapy session out of the church hall.

He’s a grumpy ex alcoholic therapist.
Great show, shame it finished after S3..

I started watching Breeders last night - watched 3 or 4 episodes.
Not sure what to make of it yet - it was mildly amusing, but there are some dark undertones with Martin Freemans character.
I watched about 6 episodes due to boredom and they're easy to watch.

I did skip some scenes with the kids. They're so incredibly fking annoying. I know that's probably the point but it's not funny, it's just annoying (to me anyway)

Very little of the show was genuinely funny to me. It was just a bit mental.

Probably won't watch anymore
As a father to 2 children of similar age (S3) I thought it was brilliant.
I tend to be chilled until I go off on one - so many many similarities.

I thought it was brilliant and thoroughly enjoyed it.

It's really good. Not sure if you have gone into it knowing the themes it covers, but I thought it was well done.
30 mins in now and I'm loving it.

"I'm not pushing you; I'm encouraging you forward" made me LOL. hehe

Also loving the little Easter Eggs... like the door noise from Doom at one point.

Update: Just finished now, and I bloody loved it.
It is good isn't it?

Can't help thinking that if Disney had gone ahead with the project after they absorbed the original studio (instead of just killing it) they would have royally fked it up in their cack-handed eagerness to show off, while someone just crafting something true to the source was all it ever needed.

I really liked everything about it.

Me too. And I loved how the sexuality / relationship of the protagonist was just so matter-of-fact and normal with no "gasp! shock!" about it. Just, you know, "this happens to be how it is". That felt really wholesome to me.

Also, I loved how there were some really genuine LOL moments in it yet it wasn't just a stupid comedy. It had a story to tell rather than it being a clothes horse on which to hang gags.

I haven't enjoyed a film so much in a very long time.

edit:
Ben Travis of Empire wrote: "Both enthusiastically irreverent and deeply sincere, Nimona is a revisionist fairytale that forges its own path visually and narratively to beautiful effect"
Yeah, I would agree with that. yes

Exactly. I think sometimes people get so caught up in trying to sell what they think are the important bits they forget to actually have a story they can exist within. Or they're so keen to be *seen* to include it that all the context is lost.

It's nice to just have a story and characters - this is how they are, this is how the world affects them - and it's all organic & complete and 'just is' and you naturally empathise with them. There are facets of the characters & story but that's it, they don't define or overwhelm it, and maybe a point is made somewhere along the line.

Other productions have quietly succeeded at this too & it's a big contrast to some of the clumsy high profile efforts some have made.

Nimona is genuinely one of my favourite recent things because it works so well at what it tries to do and how it does it and it all feels genuine.

Have just watched S1&2 of Arcane in two weeks, knowing nothing of the games.

I am in awe. Best animated thing I've ever watched and possibly my favourite series ever. If you're into steampunk, fantasy or stories where your fkups can't be redeemed I can't recommend it highly enough.

In fact I can't think of a fault at all right now.

However you look at it from animation to design to writing to voice acting to music it's basically top class.

Utterly fantastic thing.

We started watching "The Crown" recently, just finished season 1. Some of it is really good, but what is rather irritating (to put it politely) is how it slides from really good to completely made up utter utter bks without any warning. It annoys me to think that there must be many people who are swallowing it whole, I hope it occurs to them to check that some of the key plot can be shown to be fake history on Wikipedia or Google in three minutes.

Only Claire Foy was an enjoyable and convincing queen in The Crown. Seasons 1 and 2 were great productions. After season 2, I completely lost interest.

The first few series of the Crown were excellent, after that I agree it went downhill rapidly.

Just binged S1 of Arcane (i'd watched it before) and started on S2. Still the same high standards, superb animation and characterisation with people who act like you've expect with lots of shades of grey. Great for a TV show of any type let alone one based on a game. Brilliant.

Yes first two seasons of The Crown were the best. Quality fell almost season by season after that imo.

I loved it. I was surprised that Anericans can make something with that kind of humour. Seems more English in it's comedy.
