Hadn't realised Narcos Mexico Season 2 was out so thanks to whoever mentioned that on the last thread. I shall start that tonight. Fantastic series.

Finished The Stranger. I enjoyed it probably mostly because it didn't need too much thinking about. Now it's over and I have thought about it the end was a bit WTF (no spoilers)

Uppity - about Willy T Ribbs. Makes Lewis Hamilton's rise through the ranks look easy. A great documentary with a constant fight against racism in the sport over there.
Had he continued to get sponsorship over here, who knows where he may have ended up.

Just started watching Sex Education as we were running out of things.

We've binged Season 1 and are now just into Season 2 - very entertaining in an American Pie sort of way. Well worth a watch.

Thanks for the reminder (also just dipping my toe in the new thread).

Recently gave BCS a rewatch after about a year and gave it some distance from Breaking Bad - enjoyed it even more the second time, so I have high hope for the new series.

Just had the email through that the second season of Altered Carbon drops a week tomorrow rotateclap

If sci fi is your thing (or even if it's not), please give the first season a go if you haven't already. A Noir Bladerunner vibe. It's really, really good.

I'm not sure about The Stranger - half way through and there are a lot of convenient things out of nowhere that help the plot along (phone tracking, car tracking etc)

After watching the original Narcos I tried watching this, but just couldn't get into it. After watching Pablo the new guy just seemed a bit "meh".

Definitely worth persevering. Like you, I struggled with the earlier episodes but I'm glad I stuck with it.

I’d not heard of this movie before but what a fantastic, tense movie! It just popped up on my Netflix.

Kajaki: Kilo Two Bravo.

A true story based on the 2006 Paras disaster and the royal balls up with sorting out an extract.

I agree it is a fantastic series but i also think you have a valid point calling Felix "meh". Wagner Moura is a far better actor and you have to accept the fact that at the moment this is set in Mexico in the late 70's and through the 80's. Escobar is still alive shipping his cocaine via planes and boats. Mexico is nothing like Columbia at this moment with its war on drugs not declared until 2006, i feel it will be a while yet before the Mexico series reaches the original Narcos in terms of sheer volume of Cocaine shipped, people killed and corruption levels.

If you want something similar to the original Narcos then try Netflix's El Chapo. That quite quickly reaches modern Mexican cartel times

I've enjoyed Narcos Mexico but I also think Felix seems a bit too wet most of the time, not sure if its the actor or if thats how he was in reality

Another one for that i kind of liked The Stranger but just did not like the ending.

Also, has 'You' been mentioned much? I managed to get through season 1 and maybe 2 episodes of season 2 but i just couldn't put myself through any more.

A very weird series, I just didn't get it.

i gave up on 'you'. I liked Dexter which is similar but I found you season 2 hard to watch.
