Luther : The Fallen Sun

I have never seen any of the Luther series so no idea whether it’s good compared to those but…

I enjoyed it. Quite Bondlike in set pieces and cinematography.
Andy serkis hamming it up as the baddy stayed JUST on the right side of silly for me although did stray into dodgy quiz show presenter near the end.

Just over 2hrs long but kept me away from my phone.

7 bond-a-likes out of 10 frozen bodies
I have seen the series, which got steadily worse after series 3.

Just finished this. As a stand-alone I suppose I can see why people may enjoy it.

I thought it was dogst.

Horses for courses I suppose.
I agree. It was just a long standalone episode. Not worthy of the hype at all. Now, if they use it as a springboard to a new series...

They should have brought back Alice.

I suspect this may be deserving of it's own thread.

Was expecting some Americanised rehash. As as standalone, it was awesome. As a continuance of the series, it worked brilliantly.

One of the best UK drama's there's been, I think.
We enjoyed it.

Well worth 2 hours of your life.

Certainly seems to leading up to a new netflix series?

I quite enjoyed it, but then I thought the BBC series was great.

Agree with Alice though, she was a brilliant character, and Ruth Wilson was absolutely amazing.

I thought it was great.

The police rushing through that well known Orifice of east London sent shivers down my spine .

I was working there that day .

We have a Ghost
A family move into a run down place only to discover a ghost in the attic.
It's a Ghost meets Ghostbusters movie I guess. It was good, if a tad cheesy.
7/10

Luther - dark story, good action scenes, nice pace, but spoiled by ridiculous continuity. The whole getting to and from Norway thing was silly.

Luther.

I can't decide if it was great or garbage.

I'm leaning more towards the latter.

I watched Luther last night, garbage? I wouldn't say so. Great? Definitely not. 5-6/10 from me.

It wasn't bad but like a lot of film projects that end up with Netflix it was very thinly written. Often feels like a whole load of bits of story and dialogue have disappeared.

Not something you'd watch twice or remember anything specific from after a week.

We just binged the second part of the latest season of "You", I think that's it all over now, kinda enjoyed it but went in another direction that I wasn't really sure about but either way hopefully thats it now.

Quite enjoyed Black Sea - once I got over the shock of Jude Law's Scottish accent, he played the role well I thought.

Mindless fun, but the ancient sub made up for it
I watched this yesterday, enjoyed it. Decent enough.
I didn't even notice Jude Law was in it.

I really enjoyed this too. It put me in mind of Sideways, with similar themes of aging, friendship and a large dose of booze.

I've been waiting to watch this one, but it's never been the right time when flicking through the catalogue.

Clovehitch is a film worth a watch.

Slight variation on the serial killer theme.

The Haunting of Bly Manor
An old manor house is under the control of the lady of the manor who died many years ago, but spirits live on.
It's a couple of years since release, but we only watched it last week.
It's thoroughly gripping. A well written somewhat confusing, but not to the point you become lost in the plot and with excellent narration in parts... we really enjoyed it.

Loved this, did you watch The Haunting of Hill House as well? I liked that slightly more just for the overall plot arch which I found more coherent and rewarding.
