I think Chas is addicted to painkillers. It's been a while since Rhona had the same issue.....Just wondering whether Ella might end up just as crazy as Meena?!

Wasn't Anthony as the person in hospital was too young, dark hair and a beard - same reason it's not Tom- different body actor.
Most likely is what BossHogg has said - that's actually the real John Sugden. Alternatively, this is the guy that supposedly "died" that John told Aaron about when they'd gone camping months back, although he's not really dead but is in a coma.
In any case it looks like it's either this week and / or next that pretty much everything is going to be explained away, combined with flashbacks, character(s) returning to play those out (my guess one will be Nate), and John potentially stepping up attempts at proving himself the hero by being first on scene. Only suggest that as there's something about Jacob having an anaphylaxic reaction while working at the surgery and mysteriously his epi pen either doesn't work or has gone awol.
Based on one of the soap mags i saw earlier, it looks like Caleb will be finding out about what Joe setup within the next 2 weeks or so.
