Indeed. I don't think there was any "bad handling", just determined, which is what is necessary. I can however foresee self-appointed "animal lovers" complaining about it.
Not necessarily aimed at me i know, but for the record i understand animal husbandry/farming happens and am not looking to complain at all, just don’t like seeing it personally, hence switching off programme.

He got £800,000 per episode of Grand Tour, and more for the specials, plus all filming costs on top, so I think he knows what he's worth to Amazon. If anything this show has attracted more mainstream interest than the Grand Tour. Caleb is definitely the new Richard Hammond and Charlie the new James May. I wonder how much they paid them both though to appear ?

And I'm sure he's got lots of ideas for Series 2. Setting up a brewery or cheesemaking ? A music festival maybe ?

Just surprised Amazon didn't release it one show a week like they do with GT. I've subscribed for a month to watch it and will be gone soon - not much else on there worth watching.
The thought of this sends shivers down my spine.
18 seasons of Clarkson's Farm ending with him carting around an oxygen tank & grandpa Hammond taking over the running of the farm does not fill me with positive thoughts.

I hope they leave it at one really good season of 8 episode & don't ruin it by turning it into a cash cow (get it?).
Of course there will be another series. But there is nothing forcing you to watch it.

Ex celebs putting money into farming is not a new thing.
I believe the Alex he refers to in the first episode as his farming neighbour is Alex James out of Blur.

I binge watched it over the weekend and really enjoyed it.

Are Gerard and Kaleb related?

Iirc they have the same surname in the credits.

Either way I loved Kaleb's attitude to Clarkson.
"You fked up!!"

Can't be ar*ed to read through 30 pages. I thoroughly enjoyed the series.

Anyone know how much it costs to hire a combine for the day? I'm guessing it ain't cheap, especially when the owner works through the night.

Every time that question has been asked on this thread the answer has been "no", so I guess probably not.

We really enjoyed the series. Just about right balance of Clarkson being Clarkson and being educational.

I think I learned more about modern farming in this series than ten years of country file!

The "Adam's Farm" part of CountryFile is excellent. But the rest is just pratting around in the countryside. Bit like TG on two legs, or occasionally two wheels :-)

Yeah, some of his cheese, incuding Blue Monday, is sold in the shop

Change your preference in your PH user setting and it's only 8 pages.

We charge per hectare rather than per day. Varies between €175-€200 per hectare depending on the total area to be harvested and distance between fields. Worth mentioning that I'm in Belgium and that both the farm and field size are a lot smaller than the UK and we spend a lot more time moving between fields than you would in the UK. One of our machines can do 2-3 ha per hour (about 7 acres per hour).

I would expect the average combine to do at least 750 ha in the UK, maybe more. I can only dream of that - I'm running about 200 ha per machine.

Hi all,
Just an update for those who are interested.

Kaleb and Gerald are not related.

Simon the combine owner/driver or strongy as we know him owns the farm next to clarksons.
Gerald (who I know very well) worked for strongy as a farm labourer for the last 25 +years
The fields in the Cotswolds are not much larger than the ones you would find in Belgium as most are surrounded by drystone walls.

And yes the traffic has been a nightmare but I think a few people are going into the village to use the shop/cafe/pub so it’s a win for me (as a local there are many ways to avoid the traffic)

We both thoroughly enjoyed it, and they best make a further series or more, or I for one will be pissed off!
