dianne abbot receives abuse like this (see image) every single day. no matter what you think of her political judgements, nobody should be subjected to this kind of torrent of hate-filled, racial and misogynstic abuse. this thread is not making things better or offering any solutions to the situation above (and i would argue probably makes it worse) and should be closed. it's about basic human decency.

The posts are from idiots, what are you going to do - arrest all idiots? Why should 'this thread' offer any solutions - it happens every day to thousands of people across the planet and you're not going to change it as these idiots don't read or take on board the sensitivity and diversity training you may want to offer; they're ignorant people that make repugnant comments, and being cynical for a second probably help Abbott as she now has a martyr pyre ready and waiting to beat people who say anything negative about her, as she did with Peterson's question several QT's ago. ['Hate Speech' Q.]

Calling into question her ability as a potential HS, her record as an MP, her relationships within her party, her mathematical ability/intellect, her policy direction and intent, her relation with the community, her stance on gender/racism/sexism and her general comportment are all quite legitimate and actually important so that we can judge whether we'd vote for her or not. She put herself up as an important public figure to run the domestic issues of the country and if she's writing cheques she can't cash she should be exposed for it.

From my point of view she does need to lose weight as that has a health effect (as she herself has said), she isn't the brightest bulb in the garden (as has been evidenced many a time), she consistently uses her ethnicity as a shield to criticism (an arrogant and reprehensible betrayal of her own) and has militant socialist views that I personally find impractical at best and repulsive at worse.

If you can't stand the heat...

Agree 100%

But I don't see Fiona Bruce or the BBC in there and I don't see how playing the race card with Fiona Bruce or the BBC is a solution either as it's a quite ridiculous charge.

The people hurling abuse are the problem, not presenters asking straightforward questions.

The nutters in momentum are too busy hurling abuse at anyone who doesn't agree with them

Just watched the programme again
Diane Abbot is off her rocker with her claims
She was treated well. The only really uncomfortable moment was when the guy in the audience slips in that the only thing that scares him is Diane Abbot being Home secretary and in charge of police etc
It wasn't expected she wasn't ready but it reflects real life

Smiler.

Yep, it's unfortunate that there are so many intellectually deficient cretins on this planet. That said, at least giving the morons access to social meeja facilitates self-identification.

I do think that posting on a thread is not the same as posting directly to a persons account.

Which poses an interesting conundrum, an argument somewhat at odds with itself.

That said, I consider Dianne Abbot to be an odious, divisive politician, hypocritical & self-serving. She's built her career on this & has concreted her support as a result. Whilst there are politicians like her in the world, all of the problems she complains about will perpetually exist.

Do I wish her dead then you ask? No, not at all. Rather that she should not be allowed closer to any public policy influence than at least 2 light years.

I would say that to her face, given the right opportunity to explain why (well maybe ease up on the odious bit). I wouldn't post stuff like that in the screen shot. I feel sorry for anyone receiving that. It does not change my opinion of her.

She still has a job and a big fan base despite being incompetent at her job, racist, unable to do basic maths and crying foul every time anyone calls her out on anything. Has Donald Trump ever been seen in the same room as her.....

yes

In a nutshell she's thick as st and uses the race card 'You're picking on me because I'm black' whenever she feels she's looking rather stupid (so quite often it would appear)

Earlier somebody made reference to the fact that she has been an MP for so long? There was also reference to this fact that she can’t be that bad at her job if so?

Hackney and Stoke Newington is a bizarre place! Whilst generalising enormously, it is not somewhere I would wish to live! A very poor (generally) area and a Labour stronghold if there ever was one! There are some nice parts and as ever with central London, some amazing and expensive properties in the £ms....

It is ethnically a very diverse place and goes some way to explain why it is such an incredibly safe seat. THIS is why she has been around so long; it has nothing to do with her competence! I cannot find the exact make up of the electorate but will look.

With such a safe seat, the status quo is a very secure position and unlikely to change! Why would the local party or even Labour on the whole want to risk change? She will be surrounded by sycophants who rely on the status quo being maintained.

Some of the idiots in the multi million £ houses will also be typical Champagne Socialists - one of whom works for the BBC that I know personally. Funnily enough, this person spouts Corbyn like nonsense but actually voted Tory last time!!! In a local election, they may well have voted for Labour and hence be seen to endorse useless Diane!!!

The irony being that she may be a decent local MP and fights for or helps her constituents (Karen Buck - my London MP fits this description) but that should be her own self limiting description ..... one of the ‘Great Offices of State’??? Dear God no!!

Edit to add: https://www.hackney.gov.uk/media/2665/Hackney-prof... Found it! No/very limited chance of Diane being ousted .....

I want to say a huge thank you to all the Labour MPs and activists who accused Fiona Bruce and @bbcquestiontime of racism when she asked me difficult questions on last week’s show.

LOL.

She's piping up again:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-46943667

If she's in a two and eight over being questioned on QT then how does she think she'll cope if she actually managed to be Home Secretary ?

Such stunning lack of self awareness:-

Ms Abbott said Ms Bruce did "not appear well briefed".

Pot. Kettle. Black.

(My use of the word black isn't racism by the way Ms Abbott...)

oh well I guess she won't be appearing on Question Time again

Corbyn will have to send some of his other star turns instead.

I guess we'll be seeing a lot more of Emily and Keir each week then.

I reckon Fiona Bruce did her a favour not allowing her to respond to the audience member. Every time Abbott opens her gob she puts her foot in it, so it was damage limitation IMHO.

Perhaps we should have a program for her to participate in alone to debate specifically on a key part of the subject the audience member spoke towards - Abbot’s suitability to hold a position in high office. Every word she utters should be analysed and debated in that program.

I’d even suggest we give it a couple hours and any moment she wanders off topic, her mic gets turned off. At the end of the program, the audience can decide if she still has a job. Hey, we could even call it Parliament’s Got Talent, Dancing On Lies or something catchy.

Then do exactly the same with the other 649 for a comparison. Should weed out some of the dead wood.

Isn't she basically doing the same thing Trump does, attacking the media if criticized? silly

Not where she wants to be, I'm sure...

Thick as mince.
