Interesting piece on trouble in the US diplomatic corps :

http://foreignpolicy.com/2017/11/08/top-u-s-diplom...

article said:
Scores of senior diplomats, including 60 percent of career ambassadors, have left the department since the beginning of the year, when President Donald Trump took office, according to the letter. There are 74 top posts at State that remain vacant with no announced nominee.
...
In a Nov. 2 interview, Trump responded to a question about unfilled positions at the State Department by stating, “I’m the only one that matters.”

Well done again for seeing racism again where there is none.
I equally criticised bothered Obama and Trump and their supporters but that was very biased towards Trump?
Not sure how you can compare Obama with Trump to be honest. Obama had more class in his little finger than Trump has in his entire 23 stone lardbucket of a body.

Interesting to watch the first documentary on CH4 last night exploring Trumps early days, a little of which was seen on Curtis's Hypernormalisation film.

Same footage, or content?

Content; CH4 was an hour on his time in New York, Curtis briefly covered it but mixed in with other goings on. I'd commend both - Curtis especially as it arches from '75 to present day and Trump, Putin et al are featured prominently.

I know, I know Buzzfeed, but it is an interesting project and worth a 5 minute look (it's not actually Buzzfeed, it's images from an independent photojournalist)

Strange. I think one of the biggest differences between US and UK voters are that there are more delusional US voters.
SOme of those grades...all 'A's?

As for differences 'twixt Obama and Trump, the biggest ones I reckon are Obama is slick, Trump thinks he is slick, and his incompetency at choosing good people.

Flynn is fked

Not Russia, but it does turn up the heat under the obstruction accusations being levelled at Trump.

Flynn cheerleading the 'Lock her up' chants is now a delicious memory.

So its all about class rather than effectively enacting the will of the people?
(Not saying that this is what Trump is doing, just that one of the reasons why politics has become a bit "unstable" in recent years is due to people falling out of favour with the so called "political class").

I think Trump is showing to the world what the failings of the political system in America are, and how it struggles to get certain things done.
It shows some of the failings of a democratic system and the limitations of what the USA is able to do internationally.
Also interesting is how his presidency to date has shown a refusal to follow media desires.

I mentioned on another thread that the media in the UK and the USA seem to think that they are the body to control government policy and national opinion, but they forget that nobody voted for them.
It has been interesting, to me at least, how the media have become very hostile towards right-wing governments and any person who does not toe the typical line..... even though as I mentioned earlier, that this is what the people wanted. They were generally sick of the typical political class and the way things used to be done.

There is right wing media and there is media that is controlled by people who try to control governments (as opposed to just being left wing when the right are in).

On another note.

Seems the GOP are looking for new volunteers before Bannon gets them in.

Reading a long thread on Twitter by Seth Abramson alleging he broke a ton of federal laws by fixing the 2002 Miss World pageant so Putin's squeeze could win it. All very titillating but thin gruel. Still, it's a Friday so hot ladies & fat Russians will do me.
