Person(s) attend A&E after exposure to something. A&E roll their eyes and call major incident whilst thinking why us?

What’s going on here?
A local radio station is sensationalising a relatively routine incident?

'To be fair' (God, I hate the phrase - using it satirically) - the most excitement they usually get is - 'A shopping trolley was reported stolen In Salisbury yesterday by Sainsbury's and later turned up in the stream next to the library'.

That's quite the response. Given the shots of streets being hosed down, presumably probably not actual radioactive material?

Just a shame they can't make the hazmat suits look cooler. The requirements when designing them should be:

1) Not make the personnel resemble Mr Blobby.
2) Actually function.
3) Not be too hot inside.
4) Stuff.

One of the two ill people is reported by the Beeb to be Russian, and a "former intelligence [something]" - the end of the bulletin got talked over but I guess agent or analyst.

Might not be such nothing after all, then?

I believe Fentanyl has been used in assassination attempts before.

Edited: Previously used by Mossad in a botched attempt on a Hamas leader 20 years ago. It didn't work.
