I'm not sure that's how it works. If you have 10 people, one is 6ft tall and the other 9 are 5 ft tall, then 90% of them are shorter than average. I doubt the split of above/below average intelligence is 50/50.
If you put it like that then in this case it may be that most people are more intelligent than average, because.... Dianne Abbott.

why should stupid people not be able to vote though? there's plenty of them out there so they should have a say regardless of how uninformed it is imo

My niece, 26, a teacher, asked at the weekend what Brexit was all about !!

In her defence .. is there one ?

She has absolutely no interest in politics and just gets on with her life

Ok, there is no defence !

There was a chap interviewed on, I think, ITV. He was asked what he thought of brexit and he said that it'll have little effect on him so why should he bother. He was, he reckoned, near the bottom on the pile, working hard at a nothing job. Whilst there was a fair bit of derision shown by those on the programme, I'm not sure he's that far off.

He was on a little over basic wage. There was a fair bit above brexit in his list of priorities. So how is brexit going to affect him?

To paraphrase George Carlin, think about how thick the average person is, then realise that half of them are even thicker than that.
Carlin must be pretty thick, or at least innumerate.
