That is truely horrendous.
As I said, even that description doesn't do the full horror justice.

The images and sounds of those events will be with me for a long time.
Why watch it? Of course it’s horrendous.
Because, as I've written twice before, to turn away from it is, to me, to dismiss it.

Events like that should shock us and stay with us for a long time. As horrendous as it is to watch it on a video, it is as nothing compared to witnessing it in real life, which again is nothing compared to having a loved one as a victim of such an event.

I watch it to better understand what happened and how, so I may be better informed about what's going on in our world and what I can do to make things even a tiny bit better.

Those images will still be in my mind many months from now. For many others who didn't watch it, they will have forgotten all about it in a couple of weeks.

I’ve just spent the evening down at my local and one of the guys there was talking about how his staff were all huddled round a phone laughing and joking whilst watching this video. He seemed fairly indifferent about them doing it too, which amazed me.

I can’t see any reason why anyone would choose to watch this video, maybe a snippet, but surely any right thinking person would be disgusted by seeing people being murdered and turn it off / stop watching after a few seconds.

The one thing to me that differentiates this from a macro level type of video is the detail. A video of a smart bomb doesn’t show the individuals, it shows a vehicle or a building being destroyed, the A bomb on Hiroshima is a distant mushroom cloud (not sure if the actual bomb is recorded), whereas this is close up of real people dying for real.

One of the most shocking moments for me was when the Twin Towers attack went from a plane hitting a building into seeing people stranded and / or jumping to their deaths. The sight of a person dying should always ram home a tragedy and anyone finding this funny, or gaining any sort of feeling other than revulsion needs to take a long hard look at themselves and their moral compass.

Ultimately there’s no difference, people are dying in both macro and micro even videos, but one should provoke more of a reaction than the other.

He is popping up on threads all over the place posting wind up rubbish
He usually starts off by slagging other posters off and starting rows. This is his latest attention seeking crap.I won't post anything further on here. I think it would be disrespectful to the original intention of the thread but I am glad that someone else can see through this person.

There's a fair few of us that have travelled to the World's aholes and have either had to survive it, or actually been there to make it a better place for the locals, because they're either useless, or just don't know how to make it better.

This latest thing? I'm bored with it - it's just another tedious example of humans being s to other humans because they're s, or at least perceived to be s.

The older I get, the more I like the idea if Amazon, Ocado and even DP fking D. I can get everything delivered to my house without having to speak to a single tt.

The irony of me being in a Mountain Rescue Team is not lost on me, but that's my schnizz. Still trying to work it out. fking hate people but get out of bed at 2am in the sttiest of conditions to go save them at my pleasure. The s.

It's so fking boring.
That may be true.

Were you just as bored and dismissive on any of the other threads about atrocities committed by Muslims? fk no!

What the liberal elite are in denial about is that it is their own policies that have brought about the rise in far right activism/Trump/Brexit etc. and now we are seeing the consequences on a global scale.

Be careful what you wish for.
Absolutely correct. Good luck with getting that across on here though.
So the killer's propoganda is starting to take hold : that it's the liberals' fault that a right-wing nutter went on a killing spree.

Anyone else here want to join his merry crusade?

As neither of you were there, then you can call what you like. They were the words used by the guy describing it to us. The guys viewing the video weren’t the brightest and make a living digging holes, cutting up trees, and other manual work. The discussion after was generally disappointment at the lack of action that he took with them.

Having said that, I care not what either of you think. I’ve made ny views clear on Cerda the racist and his inability to debate. Techiedave you seem to be upset at me too, although I can’t think where we’ve crossed ‘espadas’ but I seem to have upset your delicate nature. I care not one jot about that either, I’ve made some points in my posts, feel free to agree or disagree, rather than your feeble attempts at jumping on a minor part of the post.

Amen to that. Anything to divert from the real issues as usual from this bunch. Insults have been lobbed my way ever since I posted sincerely that I would pray for the innocent victims of this massacre, which I did earlier today at the village church along with a handful of local parishioners. I've been called a religious nutter...and more seriously, had the actual existence of my own faith called a lie. Here on a public forum by one particular individual. Thats religious harassment in my book. I wouldn't put up with it from any of my staff and I think PH mods need to start banning posters like Macushla whose comment of

"You’re not a practising Christian, I doubt you’ve seen the inside of a church sinc your schooldays. Your posts on this topic and others are clear in what they really mean." I found genuinely offensive. (He has edited some of the original content).

All I posted to receive this abuse was

"As a Christian, I will pray for the victims of this terrible and horrifying tragedy".

But as usual the gagging orders will be dished out to those that dare question Radical Islam/ Immigration Policy/ Knife Crime etc etc

You think those comments were ok then ?

Flip it round.

Following the Manchester/London Bridge/Paris etc etc etc etc etc attacks a Muslim poster here says that he will pray for the victims and condemns the attack.....we then have a tag team of posters openly taking the piss out of that guys religion, questioning his beliefs and finally asserting that his calling is a lie.

Those posters would find themselves on vacation from these boards and you know it.

I'm not framing myself as anything, just quoting fact.

Not everything is about you.

Lose the victim mentality and attention seeking behaviour.

Stop trying to cause distractions to disrupt from the condemnation of right wing terrorism.

We see what you are attempting to do.

I realise that, show me where I've said otherwise. I responded to a challenge, just as you did just now. Did you notice that ?

Distractions ? I condemned it too you buffoon.

And who's we ? And how do you know that they think the same as you do ? Telepathy with your imaginary friends?

I realise that the air is thin up there as you sit astride your high horse, so I'll put it all down to a decrease in saturation of oxyhemoglobin.

You seem to know a lot about gagging orders for someone who has only been on here for 3 months.

Context is key though.

I’m afraid your posting style, previously espoused points of view, self justification and crass positioning as a voice of the truth on emotive socio-political issues all cause people to doubt the sincerity of your claims regarding being a man of religion.
