Head of the Crypto Dept.

Seriously, it might be an olive branch out to Silicon Valley. He did Apple a solid first time round with the tax cuts.

My guess would be Food and farming.

Trump's incompetence will stop him being able to inflict pain on Musk (well, perhaps he might cancel load of Govt contracts). Musk OTOH has capability of redirecting the Twitter/X cesspit towards Trump.
One can only hope, it would be a joy to behold

Fallout from Musk publishing the names and titles of people holding four relatively obscure climate-related government positions last week, means they have faced a number of threats and negative attention.

Several current federal employees told CNN they’re afraid their lives will be forever changed – including physically threatened – as Musk makes behind-the-scenes bureaucrats into personal targets.

https://edition.cnn.com/2024/11/27/business/elon-m...

CNN reached out to multiple experts and academics who specialize in cyber harassment, doxing and online abuse. But several declined to comment on the record for fear of themselves becoming Musk’s targets.
All of these positions and the names of those holding them are public record. No-one's being 'doxxed' here. That the incoming administration wants to shrink the Executive is about as far from being a secret as can be, similarly their climate policy position.

I cannot imagine that if any Federal employee had actually been threatened in any way that the article would not have reflected that, so it would appear that no threats have been made.

As for 'experts' declining to comment, that's a pretty transparent piece of misdirection. CNN could have contacted a hundred of these 'specialists', and if three or four were sufficiently paranoid as to decline to comment, there's their story. It doesn't mean that Musk has or would threaten any of them in any way.
Named 4 people in obscure positions within enviromental controls, that really attract no attention before being obscure...
But of course thats the plan, intimidation...

Not surprised there's attempts to whitewash the threats made... and this is Musks MO having done this a number of times before.

Musk still camped out at Magalardo for Thanksgiving with Melania and Barron on the top table, Bezos falling in line. Comms tech companies doing what they did before...
Musk is loving the adoration he gets there, theres footage of the members applauding him, not sure how long trump will like that

From the links posted, Musk has retweeted and agreed with other people's comments on the utility of a number of government positions. None of the articles mention him making any attack on these persons, nor calling for them to suffer in any way.

Elon Musk said:
"I don't think the US taxpayers should pay for the employment of a 'Director of Climate Diversification (she/her)' at the US International Development Finance Corporation."
Well, damn. I suspect quite a few people who voted in the next Administration don't think that position should exist, either.

Nor, I would imagine, are they comfortable with this bit of nepotism :
said:
“Nancy Pelosi’s niece should not be paid $181,648.00 by the U.S. Taxpayer to be the ‘Climate Advisor’ at HUD,”
to which Musk added

It's a nothingburger, and a cursory reading of the links you provide make that abundantly clear.

I read the Rolling Stone article and it didn't strike me as a 'nothing burger'.

In particular Musk quote-tweeted a post highlighting the role of a woman who works as a “Director of Climate Diversification” at the U.S. International Development Finance Corp with the remark 'So many fake jobs'. The employee in question, who holds degrees in engineering, business, and water science from Oxford and MIT, serves a 'highly technical role focused on identifying innovative solutions to help protect American agriculture and infrastructure from the effects of natural disasters'.

She's now shut down her social media accounts.

Musk appears out of his depth and, at the very least, deeply ignorant.

He is also totally devoid of self awareness and care for fellow humans.

And unfortunately owns and uses the largest megaphone on the planet

Wouldn't be surprised if their objective is to have rampant and unregulated privatisation of everything. Money is all they care about.

Good to see the tolerant Left accepting the election result and looking forward to a peaceful transfer of administrations...

Oh, wait....
Why do you automatically assume that the perpetrators are "the left"? Isn't it the case that both of the potential "assassins" were Republicans?
Even if this is 'the left', it's a pretty comical stretch to try to 'both sides' this with the behaviour of trump and various idiot supporters after the 2020 election.
Can someone point me to a Harris press conference alleging that the election was rigged, or any lawsuits the Dems have started to overturn the election results? tumbleweed If ‘both sides’ are as bad as each other then isn’t this how Harris and the Dems should respond to an election defeat?

It's a government non-job. Probably very highly paid.

Highly qualified people like that belong at NASA or the private sector.

Maybe Trump needs to create a new 'Pointing Out Where People Are Going Wrong' Department?

Hmmm. scratchchin

Smells like Rolling Stone is trying to justify the job as benefiting American taxpayers, when in reality it is an abstruse component of the foreign aid bureaucracy.
Either way, it doesn't matter. The incoming administration will have its own priorities, and it doesn't look like her role is a good fit with them.

Worth a watch.

The original nominee shoved aside due to concerns of mental capacity, to be replaced by someone with possible mental heath issues, or perhaps an alcohol dependency; either way a bullet dodged.

Hopefully they don't continue with the scorched earth approach by escalating the Ukraine conflict any further before Trump gets in.

I cannot decide which was worse...Trump suggesting they should 'fight' leading to the January unrest, or Biden trying to get us to WW3 before he leaves.

Hmm.....scratchchin

IMHO Trump and his band of musketeers will turn a lot of things to st and then walk away to let others pick up the pieces. He'll then walk away, boasting about what a great job he's done, how the US is the greatest it's ever been and how the Radical Evil Left are trying to destroy things. Was he bankrup 5 times or 6? No sane electorate would vote in somebody so demonstrably incompetent at business. However he's exceptionally competent at bullstting stupid people.
