Hmmm

When’s the Oprah assassination of the royal family being shown ?

That could get VERY awkward
Why? It’s common knowledge what a dysfunctional bunch they are rofl What’s there to damage, we’ve had paedophilia, racism, xenophobia, tax evasion, fraud, alcoholism and adultery. Will the revelation that they didn’t like Megan really trump anything?

Does the private hospital he’s been transferred from have an intensive care unit?

Bart’s obviously does so just wondering if it’s more serious than what’s been reported.

I doubt any private hospital has an ICU in the UK.

I know from my partners work that if it goes wrong with private child birth they just call 999 and have an ambulance take them to a propper hospital to get emergency treatment.

Yup (and that applies for all care provision by the private hospital). If the SHTF then . The overheads of having an ICU or an A&E service make them unviable for Private hospitals.

According to wikipedia: "The following year, the four-bed Michael Uren critical care unit for high dependency and intensive care was opened by the Prince with the purpose of providing ventilation, haemofiltration and renal replacement therapy"

Possibly it's intended for "routine" use, and they may not want to rely on it for any specialist cases?

I thought I heard he now had heart problems as well as what he initially went in with.
He has been sent to the specialist heart clinic because he is who he is.
If theres still a chance of him surviving they will be trying everything.
Would you want to be the doctor that had prince phillip die on your watch if you hadnt tried a specislist a couple of miles away.

Yes there are private ICU beds .. the problem is they don’t have the depth of backup and additional services to call upon that an NHS hospital has

If you are going to be really ill, and need perhaps multiple disciplines .. you want to be in an NHS ICU bed

Imagine being another 99 year old with similar conditions, knowing that you're not going to get the same treatment if you take a turn.

Did I miss something whereby we dont try our best for other 99yo blokes in hospital ? I’m also not inclined to think they will ensure Phil is kept alive as a gratuitous act of taking the piss over others. A bit of common sense pls folks.

Wasn't he rushed into Addenbrookes a few years ago for a heart valve job?

I had an email today titled “Operation London Bridge”
Basically let’s us know what will happen if a Monarch or Senior National Figure passes away.
I bet he goes on for quite a while yet

Very old privileged old man sick in hospital, Meh...who really cares? I am sure he will get the very best of care rolleyes
Quick, say something about taxpayers' money.
Come the revolution, he'd be alone on a geriatric ward, in Southport Hospital, sitting in his own piss.
Just like my mother in law. And he wouldnt have visitors.
What's good enough for tax payers should be good enough for the royal family.

No I'd write him up for DNR, and not bother to tell his relatives to think about saying goodbye...Because they wouldn't be allowed to visit.

It will be sad if he doesn't make 100.

...mainly because no-one will get to make the hilarious gag about getting a card from the queen.
