So you’re saying Huw Edwards was guilty of being a pervert? Where’s the evidence for that?
Well, maybe our moral compasses differ, but a man almost old enough to be a pensioner asking a 17 year old for lewd photos ranks as pretty pervy in my book.My impression from all of this isn't that Edwards is a bad person, just someone with a history of mental health issues who has made questionable decisions.
I hope the media has learned lessons from Caroline Flack's suicide. A witch hunt doesn't seem like the way forward in this situation.

I feel sorry for his family, and the way the sun handled this was disgraceful and looks premeditated, but that's par for the course. The BBC was in a trap from the start because of the innuendo about potential criminality so not really sure what else they could have done, but the internal investigation looks a bit half-hearted and I suspect there will be more stories coming out now, and some of them will be true.
If this sad saga could lead to both the sun and the beeb being closed down, I'd be good with that.

If the police have found no evidence of anything criminal happening, one presumes they spoke with the "victim" and his mum and...found nothing criminal? It's not like they don't know who was involved. And if they cooperated with the police, it would be easy to give their account.
If the BBC are dropping it, maybe they didn't find anything either.
If he's married, then OK there's a moral aspect to this...but he who is without sin cast the first stone etc.
I'd prefer it if all public figures were fully upstanding, but he's a newsreader. Doesn't seem like any of his career has put him in a dodgy position with respect to what he's alleged to have done (unlike, perhaps Schofield).
Should we give a st if Moira Stewart turned out to be into S&M? Or Charlie Stayt had a thing about donkeys? How many of the current mob on TV have morally iffy backgrounds (affairs etc)?
Society's depressing with st like this. Trial by media.

I’m going to have to pull you up on the donkey thing since I’m pretty sure bestiality is illegal If the BBC are dropping it, maybe they didn't find anything either.

But otherwise, completely agree. It’s none of our business what consenting adults get up to in private if it’s legal, regardless of how I feel about what they’re doing.

How to avoid depression?
Don't pursue a morally dubious course of action when you are a public figure. Simples
People are always sorry when they get found out....but never before oddly enough?

People with mental health conditions can avoid suffering them by making sound decisions, gotcha.

I do wonder sometimes with this sort of thing whether the public and media will be happy short of waking up to find someone has topped themselves.
Again you mean. List of Celebs and TV presenter that have topped themselves after media witch hunts is long. Caroline Flack being the most recent sadly. F1GTRUeno said:

I believe he has a history of living with depression and this episode sure as hell won't have helped given he's in hospital as a result.

No winners in this one far as I can see.
Like Caroline Flack then.I do wonder sometimes with this sort of thing whether the public and media will be happy short of waking up to find someone has topped themselves.
No winners in this one far as I can see.
Reading the thread I genuinely do wonder if that's what some people want.
