Between the abortion stuff and the MP with the assault conviction you can see exactly the demographic they're going for can't you.

Christ that's grim.
Indeed.

Labour are not far off equal in terms of ‘grim’.

Good going for a major party.

Fibre would be the green party, presumably.

Lentils.

At 3pm yesterday, Richard Tice tweeted that Reform were the only party who would protect and promote British fishing.

Also at 3pm yesterday, a parliamentary debate on fishing, attended by zero Reform MPs.

Do you think a man convicted and sent to jail for repeatedly kicking his then girlfriend should be an MP?

And if you think the answer to that is yes because he's done his time do you think his constituents should have been told about it before making a decision on whether that's the sort of person they want representing them?

That is the point of spent convictions, that you don't have to reveal them, otherwise they're not spent.

If you have a problem with spent convictions it's a much wider issue than one Reform MP.

I’m shocked.

I mean Farage always turned up when he was an MEP, oh wait…

They care more about Twitter/X likes than doing their job

Depends if you think having been sent to prison for assaulting a woman might impact some peoples view on having him as their representative in Parliament.

No I'm just not a fan of people who assault women and then lie about what happened.
His LinkedIn profile is correct though ;-) so he’s fine
I wonder if Louis Haigh’s LinkedIn profile mentions her criminal conviction from 2014?

Haha the thread on this particular thing is odd. She was mugged an thought it had been taken or she was mugged an knew it wasn't or she was not mugged an it was not taken. I can't work our why months later police would note a phone was switched on etc.

She was investigated by her employer who also fired her.

This must be the Louise Haigh resignation - how odd as she's never been known to say the wrong thing and embarrass Labour.

Interesting how many of you are usually the first to shout "squirrel" on other threads but who seem very keen to discuss Haigh rather than the Reform MP sent to prison for repeatedly kicking his then girlfriend.

Funny that.

Can't think why.

No, convictions always alter people's views. Otherwise there would be no such thing as a spent conviction.

I think McCormick must have thought that people would take a slightly dim view of "I repeatedly kicked my girlfriend and got sent to prison for it when I was younger" and that's why he claimed he just pushed her.

Nice to see Farage in the Christmas spirit too.

Farage says Reform UK MP who repeatedly kicked girlfriend deserves ‘Christian forgiveness’

Though I doubt he'll be quite so Christian towards people he doesn't align with politically who get sent to prison for assault.

How are you so down in the weeds on such an old case, without knowing the name of the person you're talking about?

Because I didn't read his name properly when I googled it.

Are we back to "it was such a long time ago" now?

No, I don’t.

My question stands. Which party do you suggest I vote for which is the party of unimpeachable moral integrity?

Good to hear and I wish a few more people would take such a straightforward approach.

And a suitable local independent is the best answer to that but right now unfortunately that won't achieve much.

True but if you want "unimpeachable moral integrity" it's the best you're going to get right now.
