Do you think a man convicted and sent to jail for repeatedly kicking his then girlfriend should be an MP?
And if you think the answer to that is yes because he's done his time do you think his constituents should have been told about it before making a decision on whether that's the sort of person they want representing them?
No, I don’t. And if you think the answer to that is yes because he's done his time do you think his constituents should have been told about it before making a decision on whether that's the sort of person they want representing them?
My question stands. Which party do you suggest I vote for which is the party of unimpeachable moral integrity?

Good to hear and I wish a few more people would take such a straightforward approach. My question stands. Which party do you suggest I vote for which is the party of unimpeachable moral integrity?
And a suitable local independent is the best answer to that but right now unfortunately that won't achieve much.

Because I didn't read his name properly when I googled it.
Are we back to "it was such a long time ago" now?
Why did you need to google his name? You posted a link to the story 7 days ago.Are we back to "it was such a long time ago" now?

You have a thread full of people losing their s
t over Haigh.
You have this thread full of people who can post plenty about Farage when it suits but who can't find it in themselves to utter a word about the suitability of a man sent to prison for giving his girlfriend a literal kicking to be an MP just because he represents a party they support.

Posted in the Haigh thread by me and applies here also:

"A spent conviction is a spent conviction regardless of rosette colour and, as long as it doesn't specifically disqualify from holding a position, should not be a consideration as long as those that needed to know have been told about the actual conviction........but they do not need to know the minutiae of the actual offence IMO."

Stewie - *you* do most of the posting about Farage, not everybody else.

As to the MP in question, I would say that as the current law says he can stand as an MP if he has completed his time, then he is entirely within his right to stand as an MP. If the constituents he is appealing to wish to elect him, that is entirely within their rights.
If none of the other candidates opposing him havent done their Opponent research on him to then publicise about him to those whose votes they wish for...THEN ITS ENTIRELY ON THEM!!
If I know Im going up against a Reform candidate, given their current popularity, Id be telling my bloody HQ to get a proper sodding dossier on them and Id be plastering all over my canvassing area!

Not sure they can 'get there act together '. They aren't going to be trusted for a long time, if ever, no matter how much the Telegraph wails.
everyone thought that about labour in 2019Already Labour is shooting itself in the foot on a regular basis and their large poll lead has gone. Starmer is now less popular than Farage.
