Interim CEO at Ferguson Marine resigns for 'personal reasons', no replacement chosen yet. No doubt details of his compensation package will only be available through repeated FoI requests......

Possibly (hopefully) been told they haven't won the small ferry contract for Calmac? Or the worst-kept secret that the Glen Rosa is over a year away from completion about to be announced tomorrow?

Ms Sturgeon was a true scottish believer through and through.
Despite attempts to portray her as a bit dodgy her integrity shone through.
I feel we will not see her like again

Damn….

Spent too long on the Trump thread where despite all the evidence of his utter tttery, there appears to be some people that actually admire and defend him. I mistook Anonymoususer’s post as equally incomprehensible….

Sitting there staring at the ceiling...hmmm I wonder if I should go with the full solid gold taps in my new multi-million pound house in a tax haven which has no extradition treaty with the UK or should I just go with the proper cost doesn't come into it option solid platinum...ye the latter why not I deserve it.

Ok, who had “withdrawn due to a cracked hull” on their Glen stbox bingo card? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cddyny75q8lo

Just sell the thing to a shipbreaker and be done with it. Same with Glen Rusty.

Yep, the crack was only found today.

See my post above - likely that Pettigrew has left as FMPG probably haven't won the small ferry contract, and no one at the yard wants to admit the Glen Rosa won't be out until well into 2026.......

Clydebuilt? This yard is deceased. It has ceased to be. It is a dead yard.

It's bad enough they are years late and 4x budget. But failed welds on a brand new ship. Surely not even the Scottish govt can continue with this yard?

Actually, I suppose you could argue it isn't a brand new ship. It was launched 7 years ago. around a quarter of the design life wasted sitting about the yard in Port Glasgow.

Should these welds not have been checked with an Xray scan or is it just a case of its a 7yo ship they all do that Sir?

They would have probably been assessed by Class when the steelwork for the hull was done some time ago...there currently are 'issues' with vibration in the aft of the ship as well which has lead to failure of other equipment...

Embarrassing - from a country that once led the world in shipbuilding - to this.
Better get the shortbread tin out.

To be fair, the paint has been chipped away there to expose the weld - ironically, the steering gear compartment was one of the better finished areas on board, at least cosmetically.
