Putins idea of long lasting peace and trumps idea of peace and sane peoples idea of long lasting peace are polar opposites.

Trump doesn’t seem to be blessed with an abundance of patience at the best of times.
So it will be very interesting to see how he reacts to Putin seeming to drag his heels even in the agreement to a ceasefire.

He could have steam coming out of his ears if the peace talks drag on for weeks. Trump originally boasted he could get this all sorted in a few days.

I totally understand why Zelensky said that but I think he should have kept quiet.

Now the next time the American’s speak to him they can say his comments “weren’t helpful”….if he hadn’t said that the conversation would have been a more straightforward “Putin won’t agree because of XYZ” and Zelensky could have pushed back and said “We gave you what you asked for….please go ahead and impose the sanctions Trump talked about two days ago”

At least he’s agreed to a ceasefire. Unlike some.

I agree he should be silent right now , everything he says will be used against him.
He is about to be forced to agree to some if not all of Putin/Trump conditions, he will just be forced to agree or help is off the table again.
He is a lost man walking , and a dead man I fear .

It gives me no pleasure to believe this , I have high regard for him and his very very brave country.

The Kremlin is saying Putin has/is visiting the Kursk region...but to my eyes this looks like a fake Vlad?

yes

That's one of the doubles.
I don't even know why the news goes along with this, it's blatantly obvious to anyone with eyes it's not him.
The footage they played on the local news here in Oz showed a Putin that looked and walked a lot more like Putin than the one in that photo.

Maybe they use doubles in parallel with the real one.

Dunno, just my assumption

If he's silent it will be used against him. It doesn't matter what he does. Trump wants to delivery him to Putin in a plate, it's just the matter of getting the right pretence for their twisted idea of optics.

He is just sad at the hundreds of millions of 18-50 year-old Ukrainian males killed in the war.

He wouldn't have had to say any of that, if Trump/the Americans had realised Putin is playing him/them.

Ha, when was the last time you heard a leader boasting about how they could get something all sorted in a few days scratchchin I expect the irony is lost on them.

There would still be opportunities to say it later. What Putin is prepared to agree to, and how far Trump is prepared to throw VZ under the bus is still in play.

Just keep quiet until all cards are on the table. Then make your statement.

Dialogue is at least open, that’s got to be a good thing, no?

If it's like VZ's visit to the Whitehouse, very debatable.

Properly constructive dialogue is. Bein stitched up isn't.

If Trump as a master plan for the former and pulls it off, that will be surprising but great.

More likely is him acquiescing to what Putin wants.

The world will see soon enough I guess.

I agree. The best way to make Trump think he is clever, is to let him work it out by himself. Zelensky’s input could be seen as Zelenskyy telling Trump pootin is making a fool of the US.

Zelenski is absolute right to speak out considering Putin’s first job of the day was to include Belarus in his war rather than actually look at a ceasefire deal.

‘They also say the two countries are ready to take military and diplomatic measures in response to NATO's actions.’

It’s no longer just 2000 miles of frontline to monitor.
