What makes someone who signs a petition showing displeasure in the way the country is being run a ”lazy f*ckwit”?
1.4 million (currently) signatories is a lot of lazy f*ckwits.
Yep. I’m so enraged by this government that’ll I sign a petition. That’ll show ‘em. Starmer has convened Cobra and planning his escape as I type such is the power of a .gov petition.1.4 million (currently) signatories is a lot of lazy f*ckwits.
At least the French burn sheep and set fire to a few things to voice their anger but it’s too much to actually go outside and light a brazier or two and protest so clicking a link will do just fine. Jesus wept, people are getting silly on Twitter and whatnot thinking what they are doing will change things.
It’ll change NOTHING. Stop wasting your time.
I think if social media had been around in the past, women and the lower classes might still be waiting for their right to vote.

The interesting question for me is how long will BBC news ignore it.
I’m guessing they won’t report on it until Tuesday at the earliest…?
Although what is the point in reporting it? Even it gets to 1m then it is only 2% of the electorate and it would be interesting to know how many of those “signing” it actually bothered to vote in the GE. Clearly they don’t have an understanding of how our version of democracy works - or maybe doesn’t work!I’m guessing they won’t report on it until Tuesday at the earliest…?

What we need is a revolution- now that might change things! Although that would involve a bit of effort and personal sacrifice rather that putting one’s name to a petition or getting angry on social media.

Kier rounded them all up and put them in Prison already sadly so no revolutions in this country. This is literally what happened but everyone was so wrapped up in not being perceived as "far right" we sleepwalked into a totalitarian regime. I think if social media had been around in the past, women and the lower classes might still be waiting for their right to vote.
People would be more afraid to voice their opinion today than they would have been even 12 months ago.
If I was Starmer i would be reflecting on how too much too fast can be detrimental to stability and that perhaps my first months in the job were not quite as good as they could have been.
I'm not Starmer however and I am sure he lacks the ability or desire to consider he may be even the tiniest bit wrong.
A petition like this shows just how badly wrong they are getting it, the Post Brexit one was also an indicator as to how badly it was all handled and I say that as a pro Brexit person who despises the EU for all its power seeking.
Starmers a puppet for a lot of powerful paymasters who all want to see private ownership reduced and the general public to have much less property and freedom. He's going to be alright though, he's on the top table with them and wont suffer the same as ordinary people.

Locking up violent racists most of whom pleaded guilty to the offences they were charged with means "we sleepwalked into a totalitarian regime".
That's brilliant.
Violent racists that put words on Facebook. Brilliant. That's brilliant.
You should be able to say whatever you like even if it's ste that nobody wants to hear. I mean you are allowed to stay on PH. This is freedom of speech I'm surprised you don't value it more!

The ones who are in jail for setting fire to hotels and attacking the Police and various other offences did a bit more than put words on Facebook. You should be able to say whatever you like even if it's ste that nobody wants to hear. More jails are being emptied as we speak so that those who signed the petition can look forward to 2 years at least.
This is a funny comment but the irony is they literally let 100s of proper actual criminals out early so they could jail people for posting crap on FB. I mean if it wasn't so chilling it would be actually very funny. Kier made a massive error not actually listening to people. Too keen to stamp his "authority' when the reality is he'll be out on his ear within 2 years.

You got a problem with a democratically elected government?
What do you hope to achieve?
Do you think an easily ignored petition will force a change of government?
You’re wasting your time but hey, knock yourselves out. I mean nothing worries a sitting government more than lazy fkwits putting their name to a petition hoping it’ll change things.
I think the opposition are more worried than the government. If there was any chance of an election the state the tories in right now, they'd st themselves What do you hope to achieve?

The irony is the same people championing this are the first to tell detractors to shut up when they get a result they like (I.E. Brexot and Boris). Now it's a result they don't like and heavan and earth must be moved to.l change the result.
I'm not going to tell them to shut up as the right to criticise is paramount. However I'll happily point out the sickening hypocrisy of it.
Either way, the government is not obliged to hold another election until the end of their term... Just like any other govt. That's the way democracy works in the UK.
