I know that the shower that are currently in power are the UK's largest spenders when it comes to advertising.

However something that boiled my urine yesterday was a full advertising hoarding advertising a job in the police for a communications officer(which I think is someone who answers the phone) - salary of about £16K.

Knowing full well they'll also be placing a sizeable advert in the paper for the job - why do they need to go to the expense of a billboard advertising campaign.

Must be alright though as my council propaganda paper has just dropped through the door advising me that the raise in council tax is the smallest it's ever been.

Because the profile of the person likely to fill the job doesn't (can't?) read newspapers?

that would be a pretty poor excuse to waste tax payers money on a position that pays £16k in my book.
