We have an Amana side by side fridge/freezer. They are a USA based outfit and used to he part of the Raytheon group so may all be wired with a CIA microphone from the factory. Its a well designed and engineered peice of kit and must be 20 years old now and has needed zero maintenance in that time. I'm sure it is not the most energy efficient, however for about 60% of the year here in the UK that energy input is helping to heat the house so I'm relaxed about it.
I can still remember when it arrived, there was small team of fitters and a ramp had to be built and some internal doors removed to get it into the kitchen, it had to be plumbed in to the rising main as well. The OH specced it in that crinkly white plastic they call "elephant hide" to avoid the constant cleaning stainless needs. It wheels in and out easily for cleaning, but you may need a structural engineer to check floor loadings smile
If they are still in business and the quality is the same then thats what I would recomend. I cant remember the brand it replaced, but I do recall that I was so p*ssed off with the usual rubbish that I was prepared to go for a 115v Amana plus a transformer. when I checked it out they had started offering 240v units.

I am sure its a brilliant piece of kit and it may just be possible that American stuff or non EU might be the way forward, problem with new AA rated fridges is the internal pipes are bonded to the inside cover so if they leak a repair is impossible. Inefficiency is much better for the environment

Like the above we bought an American Maytag side-by-side fridge/freezer and it also weighs a ton and had to be plumbed into the mains water supply. It's been in 5 years now without problems and we bought it after a very thorough investigation of the build specs of Bosch/Siemens/Samsung etc. Also the internal space was the biggest we could find at the time, it was expensive but I think worth it for the build quality.
