Hi

Looking at getting a condensing tumble dryer but have been recommended to look at the heat pump tumble dryers.
The heat pump tumble dryers are considerably more money but they do say they are more efficient.

Are they worth the extra money than a condensing tumble dryer. Its about £100 - £180 extra?

Thanks

We've not long had one fitted as part of a new kitchen/utility build.
It's a Seimens one, and to be honest I can't see much difference to a non heat pump dryer apart from cost ( no idea yet if it's more efficient )

I don't think the clothes come out as dry as I'd like, and the driest setting lasts nearly 3 hrs, but there's a myriad of adjustment to the settings that I haven't explored yet.
Runs very quiet save for the odd clunk every now and then which is the heat pump cleaning itself.

All things being equal, I'd stick with a vented dryer if possible.

We think ours is excellent.

Clothes come out 'feeling' slightly damp unless you use 'extra dry' but that's totally normal, fold em up and they are feeling fully dry within the hour and no need to iron.

The best bit is the cost, less than 30p for a full 8KG load.

We have the £500 Samsung.

We have a Samsung but the only reason I got it was because of the 5 yr warranty with it.

Its broken twice as its a little more complex than a standard drier, but does seem to be much more efficient in terms of electricity use.

Given this I would only say its worth it if the machine is covered under warranty for longer to offset to potential bork.
